Lude Generation

I have been sent a message by one of our fellow members in Poland.

He is looking to organise a European Prelude meet in/around Nurburgring in Germany in 2013.

Obviously this is still in the early stages with no definite dates, we are just trying to see how many of us would be up for it in 2013, with not much notice.

I have said that 2014 may be more achievable for most, part for time to save up for the trip, and part for many of our major project cars probably won't be complete by summer 2013.

For us in the UK, we would need to get a block booking on the ferry/tunnel which would have to be a paid deposit to confirm numbers, but this will be organised as and when the meet is confirmed.

I have suggested that it be held around either the end of May, or the start of July so that it doesn't clash with any shows in the UK, but is also out of school holiday season when channel crossing will be more expensive.

So right now, please discuss and state your interest.

Current estimating costs:

Return trip on ferry/tunnel - £100
Fuel - £150 (600 mile return trip between Calais and Nurburgring, using 25MPG and £1.35/litre) doesn't include fuel cost of going round the 'Ring or getting from your house to Dover. If we cruise the motorways, which I'd suggest is probably a good idea, no reason we shouldn't see 30+ MPG.
Europe required items - £50 if you don't already have them (now require breathalyzer for France of which we spend about half an hour in!)

What about Disney Land Paris.

I'd love to go but I'd need notice for work and also to save for the insane amounts of fuel I'd use driving in VTEC all the way through Germany so it'd be 2014 for me, but I'd definitely be up for it as I've promised myself the lude is going round the ring and on the Autobahn at some point in its life
