Hello guys, We are fast coming to the dates of the euro meet at the ring. I have got this far with organising detials for all.

The meeting point will be here:

Station BP du Virual
320 Route de Saint-Omer
62100 Calais, France
03 21 96 78 99

streetmap

This is on the way out of Calais in the right direction and a 10 minute drive from the port.
Though not a SHELL station it does offer both grades of fuel and has a big parking area to collect in.

We (two cars) will be taking an early ferry. Exactly how early is not decided yet but it will come down to cost 'v' sleep. Probably a 5am start or something horrid like that. This would put us at the garage sometime around 7am?
I would hope that everyone who was coming would be along by 8:30 and we would arrive at the ring within 5hours, so call it late lunch time. I have been liberal with these times to allow for Fubar, Snafu and Embuggerence factors.

Closer to the time we will have a grand mobile number exchange so we can build two smaller convoys or wait for stragglers etc if need be. As long as we are all connected all will be well. I will have a special phone with 5 back up batteries charged so I will be online at all times baring signal drop (i will also have a backup number)

I will not be coming back on the sunday. I will be going to spa for the public open day and hope to ''do the double''. We will then be driving back to the ring for sunday night, being tourists on the monday and coming back on tuesday. It is my friend Nick's birthday so we are having a proper stay of it. Anyone is welcome to stay with us and join in our plans.

The homeward leg of the trip for most will begin on sunday morning. Someone needs to take charge of that leg or you can just see how it goes on the day. remember though, safety in numbers.

I would like to know:

who is coming and bringing a car?
Who would like to passenger in a members car?
Who would like to come but wont know till last minute?

Once I know the drivers I will communicate directly with them. Passengers will be placed according to geographical location in relation to their closest driver and will then liase with the drivers directly. Passengers are required to take care of themselves. You will need to KNOW you can get home. You will need to KNOW you have cash for emergencies. You will need to not cause drivers any hassle on being late for pickups or back from service station stops etc. No lame duck's please.

Anyone who want's to but can't confirm will be able to get a full update at anytime and be included in the loop, just drop me a PM. The general discussion will be off forum to stop too many non involved voices muddying the waters.

If you have any questions, points and or advice please chime in. This is your chance.

Please only put your name as coming if you know you have the time, money and will to achieve this trip.

Confirmed:

LLL +1 (BMW 328is  )
Oddoneout +2(Scooby WRX)

For those of you wanting V-Power there is a Shell garage literally just down the road from the port (Dover), although the Shell site doesn't say they have V-Power. The next nearest one is Folkestone (which they say does carry V-Power). Might be useful info for someone. ;)

I'm just going by what the store locater says on their site Phil, all I can say is it's accurate for the ones around my way. How often they update this I don't know. But yeah, missing out of they don't have it

EDIT:

You can get V-Power Racing 100 at two Shell garages that are relatively on the way to the Ring, as in they are just north or north west of the Ring (so sort of on the path depending on where you are coming from):

Schwalbenweg 2, Nettersheim, 53947 Germany
Roßberg 91, Altenahr, 53505 Germany

Obviously you will need to fill up closer to the Ring depending on your situation, but as a final fuel stop off before getting there it may be a good shout. I've never been but I can imagine fuel prices near the Ring are a touch higher than normal?

Our current plan is to meet the rest at or near the Ring, as we'll probably already be in Deutschland.

I've used the filling station in Altenahr a couple of times. It's not especially expensive for that part of the country. Clean loos, if I remember! The road from there to Adenau can be fun, although I'm not sure if the convoy is going that way?

On the subject of fuel, don't forget to allow at least 5l per circuit ...

I'm sort of in the same boat as twirlycurve. If my tax rebate arrives in time I will be good to go as that will easily pay for the weekend and getting my timing thing done. Wont even put my name down as a potential passenger, an example would be Gayno saying he could go if he had a passenger, I don't want to say yes and he end up getting giddy and spending out for stuff if I'm then unable to go. That would be terrible. :(

I'm sure there was much more interest than this in the initial thread. Where is everyone? :?
