spent today with my foster dad, treated him to a day out at castle combe. weather was great til 12, then 3 1/2 hours of solid continuous rain.

we had a great day with some ace offs in the wet too.
races in various classes included...
Vortex Dunlop Fiesta Championship
Castle Combe Saloon Car Championship
McMillan Motorsport Caterham Graduates, Sigmax & Megas
Japanese Sports Car Open Invitation Race
Castle Combe, Sports & GT Championship,
Castle Combe Formula Ford 1600 Championship,
here are some vids of the fiestas in the wet with some great grass and tyre wall action. took plenty of vids but most were just boring as it rained so much, people were not too happy with binning their cars, apart from the fiestas.
and some pics.

And you didn't come and say hello because?? - That's me in our gazebo on the right in te black race suit
We were running 3 cars in the Dave Allan Memorial Trophy race.
Some pretty bloody stiff opposition it has to be said but I managed to qualify the Teg in 3rd with a new personal best of 1:17.2
We went on to finish 2nd on the road (pit stop race with driver change) and I managed a new personal best of 1:16.8 while out on full tanks (I started the race had the first stint). A 1m15 is in the car without a doubt on lower fuel and if pushing harder but this was an endurance style "handicap" race so quick pace consistancy was everything!!
After the stop we had an over enthusiastic "engine protect" limiter kick in which dropped our rev limit to 7k instead of the usual 8.5k rpm so Si couldn't keep up the consistant pace. This dropped us back to a final "handicap adjusted" position of 10th which was a little dissapointing. Having looked at the times though we dropped 30 seconds from our race time in the last 6 laps !!! This cost us a 2nd place overall
That's motorsport though... and considering I put a rod through the block destroying the motor 2 weeks ago and this motor was an untested fresh build we are actually very happy to have beaten the bigger Synchro Motorsport and Mardi Gras team entries on the road.
H22 Powas !!

with regard to the Dave Allan Memorial Trophy race. there was the new shape civic, all kitted up, matt black, no livery, stealth like. it entered the paddock area whilst you were on track. it then revved a bit popped and banged, went out for 1 lap and then came back in. i walked around the paddock looking for it for an hour after but it was nowhere to be found. rumours of it being a btcc prototype were floating around the paddock.

Haha, I wouldn't worry...we get weirdos coming up and saying that all the time
Seriously, you should have come on over...we're always willing to have a chat during "down time" over a race weekend...no matter who you are
The Civic you mention is Synchro Motorsport's replacement for the K20 Jazz that was also in the race. The car was literally first ran on Thursday night and they then put in a sterling effort to finish some details to get the car to the event at all. It went out in qualifying but had some fuel system issues which pretty much sidelined them for the race.
These cars are built to a very high standard (BTCC levels) and are serious amounts of money!! The Sadev sequencial gearboxes are £10-12k on their own!!
The Civic and the Jazz were sited over with the "Honda Village" around the back of "Camp" along with the TT Legends race bikes and Matt Neal BTCC race replica Civic.
Anyway... our little H22 Teg kicked it's arse and the Jazz .....like I said... H22 Powas
