Following on from THIS thread, I thought it'd be a good idea to have a thread where just basic ideas can be discussed.
Maybe a few of them could then be put to a poll, with the 'winning' idea going into action first?

It's just a thought, and I figured anything that gets people thinking about the club and supporting it has to be a good.

Designated ''Area organisers''.
A meet between Scottish and English members. Just once.
A pack - key ring, t shirt hoody and sticker etc.
Club premises/ lockup/garage space
Club newsletter/magazine
Club equipment that can be used by all/passed around
Rotational National Meet

I'm not sure if I'm being selfish or not but I'd quite like some exclusivity. I'd like to pay a yearly subscription, for which I could possibly get a pair of LG stickers, a lanyard (for ID at meets) and access to the forum.. or something along those lines anyway.

There could be a limited free zone for public/guest use, but I think our posts should be private. There actually is some sensitive information in some of our threads.

We could also get people that advertise on the forum to pay for the privilege that way the admins and mods could take a small cut as a wage as well as keeping the club healthy.

That I'm afraid is a bad idea. Ludebehaviour went under for that exact reason, I only took over the annual fees to keep hold of the domain name and forward new members and old to this site. Also a lot of info would be lost. Club trader sponsored? A kitty for meets? Clothing? Merchandise? We are successful cause of the accessibility to all areas.

I have to agree, I think it could be counter productive I'm afraid.
It's maybe better to suggest a donation value to help the kitty? - say £12 a year - as that's £1 a month to help out a place which probably saves most of us much more than that every year. You could still give as much or as little as you want, but putting a suggested value can work wonders.
Anyway, I don't want to look like judge jury and executioner!! (Though if SHDrivel comes back, step aside...), so I'll just try to stay on top of the thread and list any suggested ideas in the first post, if I can.

Sorry, I hope I didn't come across like that, I'm just thinking of all the forums I've been on over the years, the successful ones and the ones that wen't under, and it was never down to a non/subscribed membership IMO.
In fact, the 'biggest' club I started on had membership fees, mags, goodies etc, but it didn't save it in the end

No, not at all mate, I just mean that I don't have any experience with running clubs like this, let alone improving them! You guys are more qualified to make decisions for the club so I should just leave it to you instead of making suggestions that have already been tried and that have already failed

What about a LOTM callender? Sounds lame but I bet plenty would pay for something like that

Or give the option of a subscription and those that opt in get little forum bonuses like

Optio of a custom title under username

And such stuff...

Each LoTM winner should get their car painted by bennyboy using his bodily fluids.
