Got quite a bot more done today with help from newkid.
Sideskirts back on & new mud flaps front and back.

Couldnt get the collant to bleed - so guessed that the thermostat wasnt working - took it out and yes it was stuck open and the bleed screw was also blocked - flushed the system and fitted the new thermostat and gasket and new coolant - all was good and then the top hose started to leak so fitted a 5th gen one as a replacement - job done :)

some pics this time

hope to fit new wheel and tyres tomorrow and get it off for a MOT on Monday or Tuesday.

Swapped the wheels over - they are the old wheels off my BB4 - 15" Rota Slipstreams with Bridgestone Potenza IN 205/50's
Nice light wheels with great tyres - always a good idea!
Was a bit surprised to find this BB3 has no a/c - so its the lightest model from the factory and has the closest ratio gearbox of them all
Im starting to like this lude a bit more :)

fitted a few more brand new parts and took it back to Garage so it can go for MOT retest as it failed last week on exhaust emissions.
there were also couple of advisories from last week so decided to get them done as well ;)

rewelded exhaust at the centre hanger and fitted new cat
front arb drop links both sides
front track rod end links both sides
passenger side upper wishbone

prior to that newkid had helped me do an engine flush and new oil and filter, valve clearances, rocker cover washers and gasket, platinum spark plugs and new seals :)

fingers crossed for tomorrow with the MOT

Picked it up today so thats it back on the road :)
To celebrate i fitted a new boot seal and Tanabe Rear Strut Brace
But then just to bring things back to reality i ran into a small problem with fitting the new bonnet and got caught in the middle of a massive hail storm so had to leave it not completed.

Best part of the day was when i looked at the print out of the MOT Exhaust Emissions Test Results and saw they were clean as a whistle - all i can say is eat your heart out modern cars.

Thanks for the kind comments - Its away to get wheel alignment this afternoon and the spending must stop there.
I totalled up the cost so far and its going to have cost £200 more than i budgeted for.
However there was a bit of good news:
Fully comp insurance came in at a low £114.25 for the year :)

New bonnet fitted and wheel alignment done.
Tracking was well out with all the new drivertrain and suspension parts being fitted.
Car drives very nicely now.
New zebra stripe front door cards fitted and rotten old speakers removed. New driver side speaker cover fitted.
IACV valve cleaned out and idle is spot on.

On the downside the oil cooler pipe for the power steering has decided to start weeping. That started the day i agreed to sell it.

Will try and get some decent pics before it goes to its new home at the end of this month.
