when you thinking of doing it you could always try it on your subframe then if it will need notchef change them over if not just fit the exhaust and uprated front engine mount and keep the subframe for spares
I hit the limiter in my h23 vtec still didn't kick in

In case you get stuck putting it together, I found they went together much easier after running a file around the outer edge of the the pipes that have to go inside the larger ones, just enough to take the sharp lip off.

Use lots of WD, and also another thing I used was wooden clothes pegs! Split in half, They can be tapped inbetween the pipes during assembly to help them line up properly.

thanks for the pointers - ive just cleaned out any carbon build up and give them a light sanding and they go together a bit easier now - didnt want to over do it and take too much off.

Re: BB4 Hytech Rep Fitted

Post by vanzep » Thu Mar 14, 2013 10:19 am

spent 10 hours yesterday working on my lude and @indigolemon lude
fitted the hytech rep with custom 2.5" exhaust and new lower subframe with polyfilled front mount onto my car :)
Image
its loud - very loud
The old front mount was completely shagged :? (last three ludes ive worked on have had knackered front mounts)

Then we fitted indys new dc sports manifold - this was a pain to do compared to the fitting the hytech - maybe we were all tired tho and it was freezing

Thanks to Indy for providing the work space and tools and steak bridies :D and thanks to Celica Craig for putting in 10 hours hard graft.

Now ive still got a new passenger door to fit and then its refurb the piaas (again :x i must have put in around 100 hours on them already) and get some new tyres fitted to them. 8-)

Well stop overtaking me then  problem solved :P - your Celica is very quick ;)

Im hoping that the exhaust will calm down a bit once it has been run in a bit more.
If not then ive got a twin pipe back box that i can fit if needed :?
