Leather

Post by Pushki » Wed May 07, 2014 4:55 am

This was how my interior looked when I first bought the car.

Image

Front Seats

August 2009

I bought some leather front seats. They were grey!

Image

I wanted black, so I set about dying them.
I had to swap the rails over from the old seats. I also had to thoroughly clean and condition the leather before I could dye them.

Image

Image

Image

The driver’s bolster was worn, but the leather was still in good condition.

I was very happy with the final results.

Centre Console

Post by Pushki » Wed May 07, 2014 5:05 am

Centre Console

October 2009

All stripped out.
Image

I completely stripped the console lid right back to the bare plastic. I then strengthened the inside of the lid with some hot glue and re-covered the outside with new foam and new black leather. I used an adhesive velcro pad to secure the stereo’s remote control inside.

Image

The vinyl handbrake and gear shift gaiters were replaced with new genuine leather ones. I also replaced the Momo gear knob for my original OEM one to keep with the theme.
All the plastic has been cleaned with 'Chemical Guys Natural Shine Dressing'.

My photo was used by the eBay seller to advertise his gaiters.

Rear Seats

Post by Pushki » Wed May 07, 2014 5:14 am

Rear Seats

November 2010

My rear seats were being worked on indoors, so I drove around like this for a while. :scaredtoss:

Image

Image

I gave the leather a good clean and applied loads of conditioner. I had the covers off and replaced some of the hog clips with cable ties.

Image

I managed to get hold of some front and rear door card inserts in the more modern style that I prefer.

Stealth

Stealth

June 2012

To complete the stealth look, I bought a set of 5th gen’ black mats.
The zebra mats will still get used during the Winter.

Exterior Trim & Lights

Polished my Headlights

July 2008

My headlights had lacquer peel and had gone a bit misty, so I sanded them down and gave them a good polish.

New Badges

May 2009

My badges were pitted and looked a bit rough, so I ordered some new ones. :P

Image

Image

I found this rare DOHC VTEC badge on eBay.

I added some VTEC badges to the front wings.

Rear Windscreen Trim

Rear Windscreen Trim

September 2009

I ordered a rear windscreen moulding from Lings as mine had seen better days.
Honda Part # 73251-SS0-000

I took the old one off and found this.
Image

I cleaned up the area, pleased to find no rust.

Image

Image

After painting around the holes with some BH Electrox and protecting the paintwork with Chemical Guys sealant, I fitted the new moulding.

Image

Image

I also replaced both my door mouldings, (no pictures).

Rear Bumper Sag

Post by Pushki » Wed May 07, 2014 5:50 am

Rear Bumper Sag

September 2009

My rear bumper used to sag leaving an unsightly gap.

Image

To sort this, the bumper needed to come off.

Image

I bought a roll of 6mm neoprene foam tape and stuck a strip on the top of the bumper bar leaving the holes exposed.  This will make the bumper sit higher when it’s refitted.

Image

Image

Bumper back on with minimal gap.
