Looking 8-)
I'm a fan of the H22A8, for obvious reasons :)
I think in the real world, there would be very little difference between most ludes with most drivers, you pays your money and takes your pick. They all have their advantages (which to others might be considered a disadvantage), but TBH any lude is a good car :)

SPYDOR wrote:Hmm, searches are showing the estimated weight of the 4WS at about 30kg and estimated weight of the ATTS at 36kg, although it is so integrated with the engine I guess it's hard to say. Maybe it is partly down to the front/rear weight bias of the car as that is a fair shift of weight from the front (ATTS) to the rear (4WS) of the car when you think about it. Who knows! :?

JDM Preludes do have some lighter components like the front bumper protector and the Type-S has no sunroof among other things, although I believe the gearing is fairly similar except for a shorter 3rd gear on the Type-S.

Anyway, we digress... your car is looking good and the H22a8 is no slouch, just a shame they didn't fit the H22a7 Accord Type-R head and intake as stock!
unfortunatly, the weight of the atts is not the issue. its the drag.
looking at the dyno readings i have a fly bhp at 211.2 but at the wheels only something like 141bhp. so its a 70bhp drop.
now iirc, greenys lude may have only pulled 177bhp but his whp was 155? so although the atts is great on the corners, i can be out paced on the drag run.

That's crazy!!

So front wheel drive whp is about 15% below its bhp. All wheel drive whp is about 25% below its bhp and a 2-wheel drive ATTS system's whp is about 33% below its bhp!?!

It's no wonder ATTS never became mainstream if that's the case!

well it may also be about the gearbox oil too. im getting the atts and gearbox oil replaced when the engine is rebuilt so this should help.

33%! That's an insane loss, surely that can't be right.

only for straight line speed maybe, but the atts system was about the package including the twisty bits.
i have always said though, if an a8 engined lude presented itself at the same time as the type s i more than likely have bought the a8 as its more tunable although the s has so many other goodies the a8 uk spec doesnt, so its 3 of one and half a dozen of the other.
