Over the summer i decided to underseal the lude. I stripped her all down, minus the side skirts.
Whilst removing rust from the arches, i spotted these holes in the rear just at the bottom.
I knew if their was rust on the outside, what condition would it have been on the inside. So i took a look...
The arches will be sorted before she's put back on the road. For temporary mesaures, i used a wee dremel machine to grind away any rust i could reach. Was kind of hard as there isnt much room to work with (pretty tight). It was pretty difficult to get a paint brush down to put a thick coat on so i just used the spray, few layers done the trick.
Few pics of before and after...
Im sure everyone knows but underseal is a real f#@ker to put on. i thought it was going to be body lemonade easy but i've been at it since November & i still havn't finished the underneath. I used 1 tin of Bilt-Hamber for the Arches alone so i'll use another for the bottom of the car. Also used the Bilt-Hamber spray for the hard to reach areas.
I had a look at a few recaros sets before purchasing these ones. Many of them had worn out Bolsters, with either rips of burns. These Recaros i got where from a DC2 ITR and they had pretty solid bolsters, no rips, tears or burn marks. They where kind of dirty but i'll get these professionally cleaned.
I set the recaros in the car for a tester and they look awesome IMO
Think i'll leave the back seats out as there is literally no leg room. The frame for the dc2 rails will be fabricated once i get the arches sorted.
Also took the time to wrap the housing within the lights in carbon fibre. I'm sure you've seen better but it was my first time wrapping something but i think it turned out well.
The bottom will be undersealed once i get more underseal spray from Bilt-Hamber labs. Can't wait to get it back together again, ready for a bit of fun in the summer.
Thanks for looking
