@vanzep. Ha ha, you got me. They were a birthday prezzie actually! And yes, after a few bumps, business wise, I can relax and enjoy her again.
;)
Cheers @bennyboy. Yes, the front end feels really nice. Amazing what a couple of psi and proper alignment can do to the entire 'feel' of the car. ;)

Hi Iain, you've just quoted word for word (ish) what Jason said to me last week about the hole and the lambda sensor thing. Well, he's taking it Wednesday or Thursday so I'll report back post-welding and let's see if we've found the root of this issue.

This car is absolutely disgusting. I hope you're ashamed of yourself, Simon.

Oil Leak rectification

Post by simonc » Mon Apr 20, 2015 5:53 am

And speaking of disgusting, here's the mucky bits that needed fixing to cure the oil leak.
Here's the old VTEC seal (I think, Jason told me what it was but I've forgotten). You guys know it :D

Here's the old rocker cover gasket thing.

Cleaned block and Jason put a new seal on the distributor.

Here's the bane of my life. Jason's just collected the car so I'll have a new one in later today.

Unfortunately I don't have a shot of the welded exhaust pipe but I have seen it and they've done a good job. I'll take one later for the record. Anyway, hopefully the O2 sensor should put an and to that flamin' orange light on the dash. Fingers crossed eh?
I'll update this tomorrow when he's brought the car back and I've had a drive in it to test it for myself. Now I've just to got to wait and see...

Hiya Wayne - early bird! ;)
Yeah, thanks mate. He should be dropping it off round about 6-ish. I'll see if I've time to update this page but if not, I'll do it my time tomorrow morning.

 Holy smokes, it's not the O2 sensor as he tried two different ones and the light still came on. Bugger.
Okay, his thinking coupled with the rich running of the engine leads him to think it could be the Greddy box controller thing that's somehow out of whack and perhaps the engine needs re-tuning.
Trouble is, Jason doesn't have the tackle or the knowledge to do it and I don't want to go back to those clowns that mucked everything up in the first place.
Looks like i may have no other option. Arrgghhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Help me Obi-Wan, you're my only hope...
