Re: BB4 CF Bonnet fixed

 yeah id seen that you had a set up for sale jut not sure if they are the ones i need :?
i like the current set up as it means there is no wobble on the bonnet at speed as its bolted down tighter than i could get it to go with a set of bonnet pins. ONly problem with the nut and bolt set up is its a total pain in the arse if i need to check fluid levels etc
macky_6 wrote:Congrats on getting the bonnet sorted 8-)

Once the rear spoiler is fitted, this is gonna look mean
Cheers bud the lude does look better with the cf bonnet and its a better fit now than it was before i broke it
Im not sure about fitting the cf spoiler - i love the look of it but its one of these mods where you really need to back up what your advertising - what i mean is it really would be better suited to a track car where it will actually be of benefit when going round the track.
W1ggz wrote:How did the first outing go. Bonnet looks great mate
First outing went well and i was just starting to get into it on my last lap. To say i was nervous would be an understatement. It took me half the day to get the course layout fixed in my head. Its a short and very technical layout and it made it clear that ive a lot to learn and the difference between fast road and track is massive :)
I didnt really have much confidence in the tyres i had on the car and that wasnt helped when i spotted that i had them on the wrong way round so the rotation was opposite of what it should have been  and my vtec controller decided to override the v2 chip in the ecu meaning i had a fair bit of lag between 4k and 5k revs. Anyway thats my excuses for what was a slow but safe first outing. My time came down consistently during the day and improved by about 15 seconds a lap over the course of the day.

Yeah conditions were a bit tricky with some of the more track focused cars struggling a bit. At least you didn't spin out :D You were consistently improving your times so a good result for your first time out. The next step out is out on track.

I cant believe I spelt your name wrong

HH that is just a bit of a mis-timed gear change, it isn't slipping per se.

The little orange Chaterham didn't make it home from that event. It aquaplaned on the motorway and was written off.

clutch isnt slipping - if you look again you will see the car hits a dip in tarmac and bounces up and loses traction on the front - i guess you could say its a mistimed gear change because there is a cone put there at that point - maybe to warn people of the dip in the road :| i managed to consistently hit that dip every time

or i might have hit the limiter just before the gear change
