Re: BB4 Parking Damage

Post by vanzep » Thu Jan 16, 2014 7:39 pm

i wasnt planning getting rid just wondering if its worth the effort fixing it up all the time as the car gets a lot of parking knocks etc the car needs a lot of work to get it back to what it looked like in that photo
cheers for the kind comment though :)

FFS gutted. It can be repaired. bit of grinding through the filler and some self tappers and fibrofill and you can mend it. That bumper was my second attempt and I did my best to make it strong. muffin people have no respect do they?

So sorry to see this. I am well happy so many people liked my bumper though. I will be doing another one in spring :D

well its off the car now - so what do you have in mind?
Got to say 99percent sure im can fix it up - I spent 3 months fixing it up before fitting it on my car so i guess i can do that again

Re: BB4 New Parts

Post by vanzep » Mon May 26, 2014 10:58 am

After a bit of a rough time with owning the lude of late the only thing to do was.....spend some money on new parts

Refurbed front calipers, sliders, discs and pads. I bought the calipers ready painted and fitted new oem seal kit and new oem pads and shims.
Image
New Koyo racing rad with 1.3 Bar Koyo cap - bit of a beast this rad 8-) not too sure how i will get on iwth fitting it - for a start i need to look at getting some slimline fans and possibly a fan shroud of some kind. Might be a good idea if i fit an overide swith of some sort so i can cycle the fans when i feel its needed.

Ive resealed my PIAA Nakajima Racing Alloys . Now i just need to get some new rubber on them :)
Image
New Rays valves - bit longer than the old ones but will do the job nicely.

Ive also derusted and painted one bubbling arch - good news is metal is still intact and its been two years since i last tackled them.

Re: BB4 New front bumper

Post by vanzep » Sun Jun 08, 2014 5:06 pm

forgot to take some pics of the lude with new(ish) front bumper.
The burgundy bumper i had a temp fix went to Merlin and i took his Milano Red bumper which he got from peachy.
Pics were taken up at Knockhill today where i was watching the drifting :)

New refurbed front brakes are on the car and now i just need to buy some tyres (205/50/16) to go onto the PIAA Nakajima Alloys which have been resealed and new valves fitted. I still cant make my mind up about what tyres to go for but am leaning towards the Toyo T1R's at £60/each  The lude has been going well for an old car - recently outrunning Golf GTI',Scirroco and Civic EP3 which was pleasing :)
