gb-lude wrote:Our Time attack works different, A bit lame but you have to stay in a certain time frame.
Lets say the SEMI-PRO-STREET you can't do a lap time under 2:10 on the track in Zandfoort.
If you do, you are disquallified and have to re-enter the class above with more strickt technical rules and If it happens half way the season you will go from the quickest to the slowest.
That is the same in UK Time Attack. If you run within a certain percentage of the class above you have to move up into that class. Its only a problem for turbo cars though as no N/A car will get anywhere near the pace set by the Pro classes.

There is a Dutch guy who drives an Astra VXR in the Club FWD class of the UK TA, Bo Nielsen.

Edit - Actually he is Danish

O thats what you mean, You assume I'll be quicker and in another class..:|
But does it make a difference FWD or Turbo? don't think it does here, but haven't read the rules (accept the technical)

Ish... The UK TA is split into CLUB and PRO classes, each with their 4WD, RWD, and FWD sections. In CLUB there is also an N/A class for cars under 3.0L. The CLUB FWD class is full of ~300bhp turbo cars that would maul most N/A Ludes.

So like you say your going to have to choose your power output carefully otherwise your laptimes will force you into a class that has fast, heavily track/race focussed cars.

I could choose to either run in the CLUB N/A or FWD sections but with (I'm hoping 270bhp) I'll be firmly in the CLUB N/A section. You would be forced into the CLUB FWD section due to your turbo.

Aha I see... But my goal would be to get high in the CLUB FWD.
My car is fully race minded and just want to show some of the skyline hotshots a FWD prelude CAN kick ass 8-)

Gonna struggle with getting the power down so wide semi slicks and boost by gear is the only option.
Will benefit (like the skyline like cars) from a Quick track instead of a tacktical track with alot of bends..
Zandfoort will be a hard one as Assen will be a laugh!

A well, see how it goes! Maybe I'll endup on my roof totalling the car, just trying to warm up my tires (like a guy did last time :D )
long live the rollcage

:D

I'm going the other direction. My car is set up for tight technical circuits, I'm going to struggle on faster tracks. I can't rember seeing what power you are hoping for?

How did that guy manage that? Full slicks?

Well my goal is to keep it on the track and have a reliable setup.
With my setup I will easy make 400+ but gonna tame it so its drivable.

To be honest, a Prelude will never be as good with corners as a stripped out CRX. Have done my best to get the suspention and chassis setup right also the weight is low. but will never make it under 1100 kg.
Still have to sort out my brakes: 330 discs with legend calipers and DS2500 is not good enough for my power rating and a twisty cirquits.

First get it on the road then get the setup spot on!

Very true. My local circuit is very twisty and my Lude stacks up very well against other cars in the corners. On the flip side (in my case) an N/A CRX is unlikely to have as much power as an N/A Lude so I dont have to worry about that. Turbo'd is a differnet story . There is a turbo CRX in the PRO class of the UK TA and its a monster. Anyway the roundabout point im trying to make is that the Lude corners very well compared to similarly weighted cars, especailly in the wet.

Balance is key, everything counts.
Weight
Handing
Brakes
Power
Skill

Gonna try to make it all work. My best is all I can do, it all depends on my money tree now!

This is it.

I just had a read of the Dutch TA Semi Pro rules, similar but still a bit different to the UK TA. Anyway, good luck!!
