Rear brake overhaul today @ 88,200km
o/s/r handbrake binding mentioned at MOT
findings: o/s/r pads worn - outer pad very worn. piston out quite far and very stiff at first when winding it back in. discs - some life left but corrosion on back of n/s/r disc, handbrake set too tight - out of spec.

fitted blueprint discs and oem honda pads. cleaned up calipers and wound pistons back in. reset handbrake.
time taken 3 hours with help from Merlin. :)

worthwhile job imo and no binding so car is more responsive & better fuel economy to boot. :D

It's funny how much fight the rear discs put up when trying to get them off, all it took was a wee squirt of penetrating fluid :)

the rear caliper started binding again so i had to replace it with a new one. (o/s/r) - mileage at 88,209 km
it didnt need a handbrake cable but it was the handbrake mechanism inside the caliper that was sticking on.
also had wheels rotated front to back - so should get more wear out of this set of tyres

After a long time in the planning i finally got the 5th gen 17" Motegi alloys on the car.
They were powder coated in white and i rattle canned the centres myself.
Fitted with new tyres and valves (Thanks to Steve&Merlin)
Im keeping the old wheels and tyres for winter months. :)

I had a few issues with the powdercoater and they said they painted the spare alloy at a different time from the other 4 alloys and it looks to me to be a different shade of white :? Fortunately all the alloys on the car are the same shade of white so at least that is something. This is the first time i have used a powder coating company to do any work and its ok but not to the standard I would expect and the service was lousy to say the least. Rant over.

That 5th spare montego  wheel is definitely whiter.
Sounds like the powerdercoaters coated it when they were doing another set of wheels to save costs.

Still, Montego  wheels suit the 5th gen well.

The car looks much better with the new wheels.
