A few weeks ago the car failed its MOT, just on a few silly things:

Intermittent headlight bulb
Front indicators wrong colour
Handbrake needed adjustment

The intermittent headlight bulb was actually a cracked bulb holder, but luckily Vanzep had a brand new one in his parts pile that he kindly gave me. I previously swapped over my clear front indications but forgot to put in the orange bulbs  And yesterday Vanzep gave me a hand to reset my handbrake and properly adjust it.

I picked up some carbon door card inserts from a Japanese auction site. I do have a full interior set already, the radio surround is nice, but the door inserts are heavily scratched. Thankfully, it wasn't too much of a pain to install.

The car passed its MOT last week. No advisories as I worked through the small list from when it failed last month. The MOT dude commented on how clean the car was :D

I have stripped everything of worth from my last 5th gen, but it's the M2P4 gearbox that I wanted to reuse. The gearbox on my new 5G has high rpm grind in 3rd and 4th gears, so I am swapping gearboxes over. It would be silly not to swap the clutch while I'm there as the car has done 82K miles.

The new bits going in are a Competition Clutch lightweight flywheel (2-701-ST), not the ultra lightweight (I have that version on my racecar). Its single piece 4140 forged steel flywheel weighing 5.8Kg.

This is an ATR OEM clutch plate sitting in place on the CC flywheel, and the space around the edge:

And the OEM pressure plate sitting on the CC flywheel:

I also have a set of new Honda OEM pressure plate bolts and a new set of ARP B16 forged steel flywheel bolts (208-2802) to use.

That flywheel looks pretty damn sweet. I would love to upgrade to one myself.

Had the Lude out for a drive on Sunday and took a few pictures. One crazy thing has happened through, the clutch pedal spring has fallen off :? I have no idea how it has happened and TBH I can't feel any difference in the pedal.

I recently moved house, so both of my Ludes were put on the back burner. The upshot is the new house has a garage, the first time I have every had one, so the 5th gen is going in there 8)

I have been using my 5th over the last week and it's had lots of people staring.

A few things need going to it. It needs a wheel alignment and I am sure there are some bushes needing replaced on the rear.

Awesome news, pleased for you! The lude is looking sharp and the garage will help ensure it stays that way!

Are the headlights Stanley ones or aftermarket?

They look good anyway.

They are OEM headlights with the sliver insides sprayed black. You can put each headlight in the oven at a low temp and get the glue to soften and prise them apart. They are Sikaflex'd back together.

I think I'm going to get a cover for the car for when it's inside the garage. Will put up a post asking for opinions on what to get.
