Blue Beauty from Malaysia

Post by simonc » Sun Dec 08, 2013 6:21 am

Hi all,
Apologies for the radio silence since the last pork run to Singapore but have been flat on my back ( ooh, matron!) with a nasty virus which thankfully has now been dealt with.
The car is running very well and driving to and from Singapore two weeks ago was a blast. Still taking it easy as running the cooling system through with water and an organic cleaner. (From my other thread you can see how awful the cooling system was - and had been causing all kinds of idling issues). Anyway, running well, great pick up and fab idle so no complaints there. Still unhappy with the engine mounts and still suffering shock knock but now the engine's sorted we can move onto the other issues.
Anyway, wanted to share a few little piccys avec you boys basically to show off my fab and groovy Prelude.
Hope you enjoy them and thanks once again for all your technical help which you offer so quickly and graciously.
Hope you guys have a great Christmas, regards, Simon.

What a beauty. I do love this colour on 4th gens. It's a rare colour and makes them look really long and sleek and sophisticated I reckon. (thinking too much about no doubt  )

Did you have the seats re-trimmed or were they like that when you bought it?

Good morning wurlycorner, thanks matey and yes I agree. There is something about that colour that makes it look lower.
You are correct sir, the front seats had seen better days and leather in this heat and humidity are not good bedfellows. I found a guy through Linda who is something of whizz-kid with upholstery. I must admit, I was a little nervous when I dropped it off with him but to be honest he and his team did a great job. The vinyl is of a high quality and I chose a fabric insert to stop my derrière from sliding around so much. (The fabric also eliminates the 3rd degree burns one sometimes suffers when getting into a red hot car here in t'tropics!). I've kept the rear seats original though as they're in great nick and the front inserts are kind of subtle so you don't see a major difference between the front and rears anyway.

Nice machine, i'll be in K/L for a few days for the G.P. at the end of march, on my way back from N.Z. and en-route to Thailand, any tips on places to see after the G.P. please.
