just pop your rear speaker grils and you will find them... the actual holes for speakers is bigger, so they used spacers or mounts to fit 4.25" speakers... dont be afraid to take the grills off they not going to brake, i think i took mine by hand

Cool
I did try to rip the rear speaker grilles off by hand - but thought i might break something - hence asked on forum.
I ll give em another go.

I tried to do the same with the front (hence cloth mesh is off).
Glad i didnt now - coz the door card need to come off 1st - eeek!

yea.. you need to take the door card and its easy to reach... its just around 10 screws to undo and slide the card up... keep your windows down...

Yay!
Wayne BRAVED it - woohoo! :-)

Original does look like teeny 5.25" in a bigger hole:

Only if measuring from external plate (NOT screw holes):

Should fit a 6.5" in that hole:

I ll leave the front door cards til another day - thats just too MUCH stress for one afternoon! ;-)

Nice one, the cardboard has deteriorated to the same degree on your rear speakers as on my fronts as I described yesterday. Your measurements would also confirm that front and rear speakers are identical sizes as per my old front that I was measuring for you last night. If you want a step by step on how to remove your front door cards , just ask, as many of us have had them off before.
