It's red and impressive.

Well. Finally picked it up Saturday.

I saw it first of all on Autotrader about 2 weeks ago and NEEDED it in my life immediately.

Ok so it's not a 2.2, it's a 2.3, but I can forgive it that due to its other blessings.

Previous owner was an old chap who bought it on 24th February 1995. It had only done 7000 miles at that point. He paid £17.5k for it. And he's kept it ever since.

To say he was fastidious is an understatement - everything has been carried out at the local Honda dealer, fully stamped book and not a day late on any one. He even made notes in the handbook for himself to refer to.

Unfortunately he passed away a couple of months back. He was in his 60s when he bought the car so he'd known it would have seen him until the end and as such, he treated it with kid gloves. It was garaged every night without fail until 2 years ago - I guess when he moved into assisted housing.

Just before he died he had new tyres put on, at a cost of over £400. Continentals - he never skimped on anything.

Interior is immaculate. Absolutely flawless. Everything works, and looks new. Even had the original cassette player in. He'd had offcuts of carpets OVER the mats the whole time as he didn't want to get them dirty.

Few scabs starting on one rear arch, on sunroof and a couple of very minor scuffs on the rear bumper. Slight catch on the check strap on the driver's door too, but that's all! everything else is amazing. Taxed and MOTd until July, just had a service, cam belt was changed last year as was clutch.

Oh - the mileage. Just under 63,000

Original tool kit in the boot, original spare (matching alloy). Everything there. EVERYTHING.

Driving wise - it's incredible. It just feels so tight and new and unused that you cannot get over the age of it.

It was advertised at a very reasonable £1200.

And came home with me for an even more reasonable £800

Cannot stop driving it. And a total blank canvas too.

I'm not going to murder it - it's too nice. But it needs to be lower, and I require nice wheels. I'd been looking around for options over the last couple of weeks and couldn't find anything nice I liked within a decent price range.

Then as luck would have it, Friday night I somehow managed to buy a set of Work Emotion Cr Kai that came up for sale. They need a little bit of a refurb but are straight, and genuine. As soon as I saw them I was logging in to PayPal to buy them. Mainly because they only cost £200.00 Yep. £200.00

I think I'll get refurbished in either a graphite or bronze. Undecided as yet.

Important things first - already got my head unit in today.

So here it is.

Wow, great buy mate! Really happy for you. :P

It really does look like a minter. Many years of happy motoring to be had there. 8-)

Put a pic of the wheels up too..before & after. What size are they? And go either gunmetal grey or standard silver for that colour car I reckon. ;)

And you can always add a 2.2 at a later date if required. No rush innit..you've probably got a few miles left in that engine. :)

Lovely. Absolutely mint in that engine bay. Personally I wouldn't mess with it, deserves to be kept oem, but up to you of course.

And nothing wrong with the 2.3. Had one myself and it's a great engine. Rarest lude engine, too.

Thanks kind people.

Fear not - it won't be ruined. I like oem as possible but a slight drop, the wheels which aren't overly in-your-face and perhaps a splitter and I'll be a happy chappy.

Wow, rare find I guess, for 800 a car like that (at least in the NL that would be) :o
