Your point of view / advice please?

Hello,
I've just brought a '95 2.2 Vtec UK spec Prelude and would like your advice please.
I completed an apprenticeship at Honda during the mid to late 90's, working on these and Gen 5's throughout their production run, so I know them inside out. Sadly that was nearly 14 years ago, and rusty rear arches on Honda's was un heard of...
Having (stupidly) brought a car at night, in the rain, after too much beer (eBay...) I am now the proud owner of a Red 95 VTEC.
The car has an extensive service history and has been well looked after, with a full service history until 20k ago, at a whopping 166'000 miles.
Due to reasons unknown to anyone, Honda thought it would be a good idea to paint a car in super fadey Red, and then lacquer over the top, so you get a lovely pink car by about now...
(Can you see where this is going yet?)
So I have a Pink Honda Prelude, with a good (nearly mint apart from one crack in the rear 'door' card trim) interior, with all the LCD display working, the engine and box are good, as are the lights. Apart from the rotten rear arches, a broken spring, 4 bald tyres and a blowing flexi joint, it's not in bad nick.
The springs and exhaust can be fixed for less than £150, the tyres will cost £150 (Second had 16' rims and second hand good tyres), so with £300 investment I can have a good motor up and running with a weekends work...
However, would it be worth me breaking it to help others 'live on''?
Purely because if I do the rear arches, I can either buy a replacement panel (unless they do repair sections) for £200, then fit it and re-spray the whole car resulting in mucho money being spent on a 186'000 mile car...
So break it or save it?
Cheers
Mark
