Greeny's UKDM BB1

Well I thought I'd get over my nerves and start a thread my new Prelude.
I used to own another 4th gen a few years back but never made a thread. This time around though I really want to be a more involved/active member, even though making this thread is positively terrifying. As I'm not great at writing but hey it's only once we are out of our comfort zones, that our strengths can grow.

So I picked her up the first week of December 2013. It's a ukdm bb1 which came with 18 inch Kahn alloys and some 5inch jap style exhaust, with Megan racing manifold. It has full grey leather interior although the fronts are in terrible condition so are covered over.
The previous owner had also carried out and engine conversion replacing the uk engine with the H22a jdm unit however as some will know was still being controlled by a UKDM Ecu.

The body work is in a bit of a poor state. It has lacquer peel on the O/S/F wing as does the rear spoiler. It's also starting on the door mirrors.

Image

There is also some damage to the bonnet and N/S/R quarter pane, which apparently some pulled out inside the side of the previous owner.
Image

Image

The arches also have some bubbling but to be fair aren't too bad at the moment.

That's the background of when I got her out the way.

So things I've done so far.

I installed my new head unit, which has selectable colours enabling me to match it almost perfectly to the EL dials. Picture to follow.
I also replaced the speakers. For the fronts though I had to make some custom adapters out if mdf

Then painted with PVA then gloss black paint to help protect against water.

Up next was to change the cat back exhaust system which I did not like. Picked up a twin pipe mongoose item from bluejedi.

Image

Then I purchased a set of wind-deflectors from bluejedi again. I think they really improve the look of preludes.
Before.

After.

Next up was fitting a short shifter, leather boot and ITR shift knob. Although I can't remember who I bought these off  sorry.

I've also fitted some aero wiper blades. And some new bulbs including led interior but have no photos of these.

I also had a misfiring problem, there is a thread on this. Which was eventually cured by fitted a new dizzy cap and rotor arm :)

Well it's taken almost 2 hours to get to this point  so for now I'll leave it there. With more to be added to get up to present day.

I do have big plans for the Lude as I love them and they becoming hard to get hold of.
Some ideas of my plans are a restoration and re spray.
And toying with the idea of a strong turbo conversion in the future but I'm not sure as I do love N/A

So for now I'm off to relax before going to Ireland for the bank holiday weekend :)

Yes it is a shame but from what I've checked so far it's not bad on the rust side, I've yet to check behind te skirts, that's first on list when I'm bak home.
As long as rust isn't to bad behind the skirts and it's worth keeping. In a couple of years it'll be a new looking car. Well that's te plan any way

Well done for getting a profile up :D

Really like the wheels, suit the car nicely 8-)

Thank you mate.

And yes I do like them, their 18s tho with 35 rubber need thicker rubber to be honest for ride and looks.
I do plan on new wheels though.

And yes I was going to get all
Damage fix ad a complete respray this year. However we have too much on so will have to put it back to next year, but it'll be getting done.
Or now I'm going to tidy it up with. DIY rattle
Can jobbie :)

Ok well small update. Over the past week I fitted my new projector headlights (ball ache!) under my make shift shelter in the end.

I also painted my nostrils which defiantly makes the front end look better.

Lights and nostrils all finished
