Tomorrow I'm at a local (to us) bodyshop for a quote to repair/replace inner and outer arches.
Thought id replied to this last night, but I did have a few tinnies so i dont know

Did you get your quote in the end?

I also have a guy who rents our paint shop that is pretty handy too. He has been away for two weeks but is back monday and i was planning on asking him then. Would be interesting to compare. If he is cheaper then your more than welcome to bring it down.

Unfortunatly found out today that the wheel is a definite gonner so i'm going to have to get new wheels sorted before i can do much else.

Do this ..and include a photo of @Rudelude :bat: :bat:

You must have the patience of a saint @AndyPandy1, I would be outraged :troll:

So its been a long hard journey with the Honda so far but Im finally getting somewhere. As you can see from the previous posts there have been a lot of unfortunate circumstances.

I managed to painstakingly repair the wheel with lots of heat gunning and trips to the balancing machine. It SOMEHOW is now round (ish/ enough) and no cracks. Once again sorry to @wurlycorner for messing you about with those wheels.

I have now started on the wheels and its having to be a bit of a bodge job because I have no money but access to facilties. (some of you will laugh

Here's how it started....

Image

I didnt have space on the ramp so gave it a go on the car. Not ideal i know but its done the trick...... for now

Covered the important bits after cleaning with thinners and sanding

Cant believe I dint clean the car first

Still dirty :(

The wheels turned out ok. Need another coat and im going to spray the callipers red, Also need new nuts and centre caps too :)

Finally got them all sorted and blacked out the trim as they had started to turn grey.

After that and still having paint left I decided to spray the wipers which were also faded. Typically just as
I finished it, the heavens opened. I tried improvising but they will need to be re done. Funny pic tho

So here is where I am now. Two new rear Tyres, New discs and pads also the hbrake cable. Next on the list is the arches because they look terrible but overall and from a distance it looks nice an more importantly its still on the road.

Ill be updating as and when, someday it will be a gem.

So its a sad day today as I have had to make the decision to take the car off the road at the end of the month. Its a real shame but i cant justify the cost of Keeping the ol' gal on the road. I am not selling it as its not really worth anything so im going to store it. Hopefully When I start my new job I may consider putting her back on the road.

Got 2 weeks left so I'm going to make sure i enjoy every second!!

Thanks to everyone for all the help you have given me. Hopefully i'll be back soon.
