That's a scarily sinister post... :scaredtoss:

Well done on the milestone vanzep and glad not ditched the profile updates :D (no need to since there is the photofuckit workaround)

cheers wurly :)

thought id broken something on the nearside rear suspension after hitting a massive pothole :x
got it up on the ramps today and had a look - couldnt find anything wrong apart from a tiny bit of play in the lower joint - got another opinion and was reassured so heading up to Crail for the 1/4r mile on 19th November for last thrash of the year. :)
Got some competiton this time round with newkid taking his newly imported H22 Torneo and another pal taking his V8 soarer - should be close :?
If anyone else wants to come along we normally meet up at McD's near the Forth Bridge crossing or see you up there.

Nick I may try and get through with the ATR, missus and wee one - don't think I trust it down the strip if i'm honest then again if I get the drive shaft sorted and plenty oil should be fine. Giving it a run to Glasgow next week but will see what it happens on the day

Went ok
wasnt busy at Crail so managed over 20 runs and got my moneys worth ;)
apart from a little bit of brake bind on the passenger side and continuous poor starts off the line i did manage to reach my targets :)
best time was 14.6 and on one run i crossed the line at 100.7mph
id say fitting that 5th gen 62mm throttle body has helped a little bit and thats the only change made since the last time there.
not too bad for an engine that has passed 200,000miles
oh and the drivers side front indicator fell out - had some 3m tape so stuck it back on

if only i could get some decent traction off the line

MOT (pass with defects) 26th June 2018

Not sure but think this is MOT number 18 or 19 for the BB4 (in my time of ownership)
Was a pass :)
but with a few advisories and one minor defect which was the lower ball joint boot on the driver side.
And they dont like the fact the cf bonnet is bolted down and has no centre catch - not a biggie a i can swap it back to one of the oem bonnets i have spare for next time.
The slight play in both front upper wishbones is due to me replacing the oem ones with es polys and i did think at the time the oem design is far better than ES. They dont really need replaced but i do have spare wishbones with the oem mounts in place so i may change them over at some point. Yeah im not too impressed with the ES upper wishbone bushes or their front drop link ones (which ive also replaced with oem/blueprint) and ive also found the rear arb bushes tend to go oval quite quickly and ive replaced them with Strongflex poly ones which fit the oem mount bracket. The ES parts have been one the car since 2013 - rant over

there was a mention they are tightening up on import cars that are not fitted with a cat

The only thing i did prior to the MOT was have a new set of steering rack gaiters fitted as ones on the car had split. They were aftermarket and half the diameter of the OEM ones and 1/6th of the price so no real surprise there but i think they have lasted 4 or 5 years which is not too bad.

Anyway im pleased with another pass and the car is running spot on.

Maybe its a good time to sell it and concentrate on the BB1 - but who is going to give me the £3k i think the car is worth :)

Took the car in to have some of the minor defects sorted as highlighted in the recent MOT.

Was a bit surprised at how bad the es poly bushes had worn in the front upper wishbones
I know theyve been in there for 5 years but they were still greased up but the poly bush itself had worn to the point the metal collars fell out
so thats front arb drop link bushes, front upper wishbone bushes and rear arb mounting bushes that have gone so far......
pic says it all.... :puke: :puke:

also had some lift in one of the rear wheel bearings so that was also replaced.

car feels nice and tight now :)
