Alinton's BB4 - alarm/immob fitted

Post by alinton » Sat Jun 13, 2015 9:20 pm

Now then, what's happened since we last spoke?

Well the car now has a Type S intake which is working well.

Also I changed the OEM 15" wheels for some 16" 5-spokes today, in black, with Dunlop boots.

What do y'all think of the black? I'm not sure!

(shall I get out the silver paint rattle can?)

Here's some more shots:

And of the bay with intake:

Keep the black wheels it's made a big difference, I like them anyway, red and black always goes well together :)

nice :)
The type S intake is a good addition.
I changed my wheel to a set of black slipstreams a couple of months ago - i wasnt sure if i liked the look at first but it has grown on me - sure it will be the same for you :)

Did you paint the slam panel and engine bay?

Well letting you in on a little secret, the car used to be black, and when I got it sprayed I decided to leave the slam panel and inner wings black for a) the look and b) the cost!

Looks well, was going to say it about the bay too but yeah the Black and red mix good 8-)
You need some lowering, mine too,it's on the cards and get yourself a square front reg plate those letterbox ones :x
I heard sometime ago that the dept of transport or similar were looking into allowing people to update their car reg's upon new ownership,so if you've bought a Clare reg'd car and live in Kilkenny then you can swap the the county out on it.
I would have been up for it with most of the cars i bought,it's a smally but still you got to look at it everyday  plus they want more money off you!

True, but I hate the square number plates even more. I think the little one I have is the least of all evils.

I don't really care about it being a Clare reg as opposed to a Kilkenny one. I'd rather have no plate at all on the front!

(For UK readers, the centre two letters in the Irish plates denote the county of first registration. CE is Clare, KK is Kilkenny etc. The first two numbers are the year).

And re the lowering, I know, but I'm loathe to, with the number of speed ramps, many of which are illegally steep. I'll ruminate on it!

Looking good, dude! Type-S intake is a great mod, have you removed the resonator set up from inside the wing? I have, my intake noise sounds brilliant!

I like the black wheels too. In my opinion though, to tie them in you need some more black.. black backed headlights, maybe black indicators, maybe tinted windows.. but that's the thing about opinions..

Thanks guys. I haven't removed the resonator, I'm concerned about the possible ingress of water when driving in very wet conditions.

Need I be?

One thing I do mean to do is check if the vacuum valve is working in the resonator.
