Dino's BB4 Prelude (Photos All Linked 31/07/18)

Post by Dino » Wed Sep 02, 2015 6:43 pm

Well I’ve gone and done it, and I’m back in a prelude

This particular car is a JDM 2.2 Si Vtec BB1 (with 2ws conversion), no abs and no airbags.

The car was originally imported into the UK by its only owner in 2000 and has owned it for the past 14 years.

Dave (Darf) was the first person who worked on my first prelude back in 2004 when he fitted a Darfsport (Spoon V1) chip to my lude.

I have since gotten to know Dave quite well over the years and had a particular affection for his car.

Some of you may remember Dave who attended the Annual LG meet back in 2013where we had the last Dyno day at Power station.

Dave has loved this car and all his MOT’s with no advisories and no rust on the car shows this.

Dave has built this car from the ground up, including all the engine build and gearbox himself. I’ve seen all the calculations he has used for the engine build and it looked pretty mind boggling and utterly thorough.

When I spoke to Dave recently, he was looking to put the car up for sale. After several discussions a deal was struck and I am now the proud owner of this beauty.

Anyway, here is a brief spec of the car:

Exterior...
Oz superleggara alloy wheels, 17", silver
JUN style front lip
JDM wind deflectors
S2000 Ariel
Fujitsubo legalis R exhaust
JUN stainless exhaust manifold
de-cat pipe
Folding mirrors wired into central locking

Interior...
rear seats removed
Sparco evo2 seats, sliding
Momo steering wheel
Standard seat belts fitted, Sparco 3 point harnesses can be bolted in.
short shifter
SPA oil pressure/temperature gauge
Sony cd player

Suspension and brakes...
polyurethane suspension bushes, full
lowering springs, lowered 30mm
KYB top adjustable shock absorbers, 4 settings
Cusco front upper strut brace
rear upper strut brace
rear lower strut brace
braided steel brake lines

Weight saving...
power steering removed
aircon removed
cruise control removed
Acoustic mats removed
Boot interior stripped

Engine and gearbox...
M2B4 LSD gearbox, new bearings, synchros, seals
Engine rebuild with all new seals and gaskets
Head skimmed, port and polished
Block decked and professionally honed
Ported and port matched intake plenum
Poly engine mounts
induction kit
K&N cone air filter
forged con rods, eagle
Honda Prelude type-s pistons, oversized
JUN camshafts
JUN valve springs
JUN retainers
Metal cam end seal
H23 manual adjuster conversion, for timing belt
adjustable cam gears
ARP head studs
ARP main studs
balance shaft removal kit
Endyn oil plumbing kit, extra oiling to cams
Endyn port and polished Honda oil pump
Fidanza lightweight flywheel
Magnecor KV85 ignition leads
Iridium plugs
Baffled Sump
VAFC built into dash
ECU remap with spoon chip, 120 mph limiter removed
Unichip piggyback ECU
Gear shifter LEDs built into rev counter
New windscreen (bronze), All windows still bronze.
New radiator and clutch slave cylinder.

I have a few plans for the car.
Currently the car is making 250bhp on just a Spoon V1 chip.
I have a Hondata S300 awaiting to fit and will get this mapped which should help release the engine’s full potential
I have a few cosmetic external changes to make and hoping to fit my oil cooler kit.

Stunning. Simply stunning.

Lots of tasty modifications to make it everything the Prelude can be.

It is def one of the best looking 4th gens to come up for a while. I'd prefer regular seats myself just to keepit looking classy....after all the LUDE is a classy car

Cheers guys. Its a great car and very happy with it.

Wiggz, wont be doing powerstation as thats where it ran last time with no change to modifications. Ill run there again once car is mapped.

Rudelude. Liking the bucket seats as the car will see a track day next year plus its not built for comfort.

Drax. Im glad it meets your approval. :) Hopefully meet up soon for a few piccies.
