Re: Facelift Parts for the preface BB1

Post by vanzep » Sat Jun 16, 2018 10:30 am

Hi Ben, I still have the non led spoiler you sent me :)
I was planning on getting it fitted but then these newly painted panels came along.
I guess i can still fit the non led spoiler to the new bootlid but would have to get the spoiler resprayed first.
If i go this route you can have the led spoiler ;)

Ah it's cool man! I wasn't being funny LOL. Just curious really. :)
BTW, why don't you fancy rigging up the spoiler light? I did it when I swapped mine and it's very straightforward. 8-)

It already has the high level 3rd brake light and i dont think you can have more than that but i might be wrong - i do like the high level brake light so would want to keep that if a choice has to be made :)

I personally prefer black headlights on all colours except silver.

And what's the difference between boots?

I also prefer black headlights, they look much better to me. On silver too.
And I prefer the pre-facelift rear seat separator (can't call it arm rest).

Really, how the boot is different? Does it have a different part number?

4g bootlids aren't different pre-face and post-face, they're different JDM and UKDM/EDM.
3g bootlids are different pre-face and post-face.

I did have a set of black backed lights ready to fit but i had to use them on the BB4 after it had 3 front end hits in the space of a month
so im stuck with the spare set of chrome ones for now :)
ive seen a few pics of chromies on black/grey ludes and it looks ok but might clash with the orange indicators :?

The boots are different but both are JDM - one has a spoiler and the other doesnt.
I thought the early jdm preludes didnt have a spoiler as standard but was offered as an option shortly after release but all facelift jdm models had the spoiler fitted as standard.

Typical prelude tho - as soon as i plan some work it starts playing up - 2 and half years of graft and tlc and its still not co-operating like it should  :bat:

Believe 2.0's didn't get the spoiler ever, as standard fitment (was always and option). Think it was also an option on f22's. Not sure about h23's as standard and you could probably 'delete' on all vtec's.
Nothing different facelift to pre facelift though.
