JDM donar car bought

Post by JEBB4 » Sun Oct 16, 2016 1:20 am

So I've got my donar BB1.. And she's a beauty

Having trouble uploading pictures at present but parts salvaged so far are.....

JDM Flare
3 zebra mats (drivers missing :x )
Clear JDM front fogs with switch
Orange Stanley indicators
Pre face 1 piece headlights
Blue(ish) seats
OEM wind deflectors

It's got a half mast aerial but the antenna is snapped  might try resurrect it... Also there's a rear wiper, bronze JDM windscreen but these are abit too much hassle to remove and put on mine so will be left..
The 4ws works fine, it has ABS (no light on so suspect all works fine) and cruise control..

The engine is what I'm after most, it sounds like it needs the valve clearances doing, very noisy alternator bearings and some kind of monumental oil leak but as with the engine in the BB4 it will be partially rebuilt so will all get sorted... Looking forward to getting it out now :D

Also when I removed the front bumper with metal cross member I found it felt much much lighter than the one on my BB2, anyone know if there is any difference or am I tripping?

looking brilliant 8-) id strip the whole thing for spares mate, anything you dont use or need sell on - if they are not very common in Australia, then you should get some good prices for bits

Yeah that's my plan but it's not very easy working in this tiny little garage, also it needs to be mobile for when the time comes to get rid which limits me to very little of the suspension which is annoying as it's always nice to have spares but I'm sure I'll figure it out..

Had a good productive couple of weekends on the donar car, so I've stripped the interior of anything that I think is worth anything, I'm trying to establish a fully functioning and complete climate controls system possibly to fit in the BB2 or possibly to sell..

Anyway on removal of the dash to get at the evaporator and other parts for the swap, I came across this little switch for the immobiliser which I thought was stealth as 8-)

Image

So I still have some parts of the system to remove but I thought it time to tackle the main part that I bought this car for.. That epic JDM H22a 8-) :jdm: :scaredtoss:

Yesterday (Saturday) I came home after work and after a beer (or two) with my bro I thought it time to get the engine ready for removal, so I cracked on and during one of the most intense thunder storms I've seen here I got it ready to pull out..
So this morning I was up bright and early to get it out and I can honestly say that wasn't the easiest engine removal I've done....
oh the engine came out very easily through the top with the bonnet off but working outside in what must have been 100% humidity was not pleasant.. Also found a big huntsman spider hiding in our washing machine which of course the Mrs was terrified of so had to deal with him too

Anyway I'm babbling on now here's a couple of pics of how it stands

Sorry for the essay but Sunday beers in Aus bring the writer out in me

Did you test to see if it was an immobiliser?
