Nice work cutting out the old rust.
What did you do to finish the repair? Filler or weld?

I never weld such small spots. I always use glas fiber after i fully removed the rust and seal the bare metall with "Fertan".
Its cheap and effective.

I also cured the fenders from inside, but didnt take any photos :/

Phantom Prelude Project+Story - Type R Video

Post by TheHondaTuner » Fri Feb 22, 2019 8:36 pm

Uff, long time no update here..

I parted and scraped the car!

Image

JOKING!! That is never going to happen!

It didnt change a lot tbh.
Well i rebuild the interior. Every part got a handwash an ive installed a soundsystem BUT 100% invisible. Even with a 4 channel amp. The speakers are ETON :)
Also installed Hella Foglights with the original rear Fogswitch. The wiring took me a day but iam so happy with it :)

Image

But i got a second set of fenders and pulled them for the bigger wheels. Also bought a PLM Tri Y header and installed adjustable cam gear.
The car is currently still sleeping and i will release it in april, then start by matching the PLM into it (open it to 2,5" first) and install a huge cat (its non-cat at the moment but i need to stop giving the people behind me cancer when kick into VTEC :s)
I changed the suspension setup by damper and espacially toe. Handling dramaticly changed.
I also cut the Damper fork to get a little lower in the front.
Maybe i can get a friends 2.3 block for free and mill it to 12,5:1. With the new parts and a fresh tune 230-240hp would be great.
But along with 235s tires that will be all this year. Iam broke af and gonna travel most time by bycicle probably this year :D
Well at october iam going to build it back to stock for technical inspection
I didnt make a lot of photos sadly :( but a short Video and one with the new wheels

Image

Not so special but better then nothin :D

Phantom Prelude Project+Story - Type R Video

Post by TheHondaTuner » Sun Apr 05, 2020 6:01 pm

Prelude is still alive. Its sitting and waiting for summer. Sadly the TÜV (german MOT) ran out. So i gotta remove the Exhaust, Header, Wheels, Suspension and connect the Lamda, create a map with 14:1 repair the steeringrubber thing and drive it sneaky at night to the Inspectionstation. Then put everthing back in and register it.

Aside from that, my Frankenstein Engine needs work. The engine got a lot of custom work with cheap junkparts last year after i realised that i was driving 1 year racemode with a broken piston!! It was smokey af and had only 8 bar at cyl3 but still put up close to 200HP :) So letz say basic Hondalife LOL. Now its putting close to 220hp and MUCH more torque with its 13+:1 2300cc setup.
However the pistons rattle due the Short F20C pistons and shorter Rods. I need to raise the oilpressure further and the H23 Rods need that oilsquirt notch. Maybe run thinner or thicker oil.
Iam going to put engine specs later. The engine is in despirate need of sharper cams anyway to finally become a powerhouse :)

A few pics from last year :)

The mighty S2000 Piston. Looks more like a Tuning one then a regular H22.

Thats what aI call tight! Pistons had to be notched after they killed Oilsquirter #1.

Timing is everything..

Ready to Rule the Streets again. You might notice my new RS-Double-R in 225. Arches hat to be modified with 8,5j +30

Pulled Fenders back in Phantom Grey and beautiful as never before
Image

The "H23C" ran 1000km last year. Its made out of 8 damaged junk engines. No joke. Only bearingcaps were new. (King racing) Even the old headgasket was reused a 3rd time.
So this month iam going to prepare the Lude for 2020 and hopefully drive a little more. Unfortunately the budget is tight again thanks to corona

Phantom Prelude Project+Story - Frankenstein H23C and 2020 prep

Post by TheHondaTuner » Thu Jan 07, 2021 2:47 pm

The Lude is still alive. Ive rebuild the engine a 2nd Time. Now its an H23C2 with a few new tricks :) Pushing 240-260 depending on the wheater. The Intake is the biggest bottleneck. Either the Air is hot, the filter to small or a bigger one is blocked by the hood, battery and cant breathe. It starts reading lower MAP values from 3500rpm on WOT, LOL!

Also ive ordered an LSD U2Q7 tranny :) Iam scared of the 3rd 4th gear gap compared to the BB1 trans. because you snack those turbo VAG(ina) cars easy 160-200kmh. Oh i remeber the poor S6 who decided to block teh left lane down to 80 and then fullhtrothle till 250 on Autobahn a few month ago. Didnt worked out like he planed. Sad Audi bois.

But 2nd and 3rd with LSD will make it touge ready. The suspension and Bushings are already over their limit with the new power. Gotta take care on that aswell and then my 2021 Budget is done^^ Oh, Accord 282 Brakes (26 thick, 2 pods) are on the way too and i guess Steelbrakelines will make a good Combo.

Aside from that I just bought a ugly Duckling. 2nd hand BB6 Red Top for a few bucks. Never raced but needed some work and rust holes fixed. Already fixed everythign besides the rust. Its so booring compared to the BB1 wich feels more like a Fireblade responsewise.

Pictures follow soon. And Happy 2021 Everyone :)
