Ripping out the engine would save a huge amount of weight!

VTI TrackCar < update 16th March, how to RTA BUSHES

Post by louckie » Sat Mar 16, 2019 7:36 pm

Right guys bushes they’re a kebab to do here some helpful and easy tips

1. A Press is not to be all of end all’s “think that’s a saying” as the video abover going around with a drill bit separating the bush from the sleeve is key! Once the rubber is removed install a hacksaw blade inside the looop and make two cuts through the sleeve to the lower control arm! Using a sharp chisle remove cut piece. The sleeve should remove with ease.

2. RTA poly bush isn’t supplied with a sleeve you’ll need to use OE sleeve with rubber removed. Use the same drilling tekkerzzz as when I was separating susspension bush. Clean up with a wire wheel. Add plenty of grease and insert bush. How do I insert the bush without a press???? Well I used a vice for a lot of the bushes however the RTA bush was very very tight!

3. Be a chav and set the bushes on fire, kill the birds and the bees get the job done use the same sleeve removal tech as above.

4. When using a press have a wide selection of drifts / large sockets “I used an old ducato wheel bearing tool I made”

5. Most importantly expect bolts to snap! Take your time add plenty of penitrive spray and take your time work bolts in and out to prevent breakages. Have some carbide drills on standby and a good drill this job can be a right slag !

It cost me £130 roughy to poly bush my rear end

Trailing arms

Trailing arm “ LCA mounting”

Inner lca

Outer lca

Good luck
