Got started installing the Mini 0906 dashcam after work today. Started with the hard wire kit, so that I can use Parking Guard on the dashcam. Struggled to find a constant 12V connection on fusebox under dash and it's all in Japanese  . Then I saw the 12V cable going to boot for sub and amp, and just tapped into that. Acc. cable from hardwire kit just plugged into Acc socket in fusebox with a Add-a-circuit plug. Tested and all works as expected, with wires nicely hidden out of the way.

Mounted the front cameras behind the rear view mirror, and then ran out of sunlight (doing this in the side of the road by my house) so packed it in till tomorrow.

Really pissed off, coz I saw that while removing the K1S dashcam wiring, I snipped one of the wires going to my recently upgraded tweeters in the dash   Not much slack on the wire, so will have to take it out and recable it. Ah well - it's all practice, I suppose :D

Got the dashcams installed and all tidied away. This shows the connection to Acc., ground and 12v going to amp

Those three wires go into this little box, which in turn connects to dashcam. I can set it so that when battery gets to certain voltage, it turns dashcam off. This way, parking guard mode won't drain car battery completely

Front dashcam sat behind mirror. Not as sublte as the K1s, but not too big

And this shows the rear dashcam, as well as the speakers with the speaker grilles facing the same way (OCD satisfied), and painted black

And my oopsie with the tweeter wiring...

New tail lights... Gonna use them as is for a while, but may tint them a little darker

How did you tint the rear lights?
It looks good with that very light tint.

Cheers. I like it too. I used E-TECH Lens Tint Kit (Spray Paint & Spray Remover) Smoked. More layers I spray, the darkee the tint. This result was from three layers

So... the parking guard mode in my new dashcam works really well....

I went to check the footage yesterday, as I went for a nice drive down t oa meet in Weymouth on Saturday, and it was filled with 64GB of video footage of it raining....

So much for checking footage of my nice drive to and from the coast....

I've decided I don't need parking guard, so rewired it so that it only works when ignition is on :D

While I was under the dash, I noticed a plug hanging loose, which I hadn't noticed before, so I dunno if I pulled it out from somewhere... As far as I can, there's no empty socket under there missing a plug....

Got some pics of it below. As you can see it only has 3 wires going into it (seems a waste on a plug with so many pins)

Confused/ Gayno, would you know what this plug is for, and whether it should be plugged in or not ?

No idea from my side Roger, I very rarely ventured under the dash! If it wasn't connected to anything car has run fine for the 8+ years I've had it

That's the problem... I don't know if it WAS connected to something, and I pulled it out by mistake :-)

Sure the green plug is from el dials, had a conversion by any chance? Auto to manual or non el dials to el dials.

The dials are from a UKDM facelift (EL dials), but the car's wiring loom is pre-facelift JDM without EL.
