When he first told me he was selling it, I have to admit I was tempted. I had that car as a fresh import and literally had everything sorted.

Having had a think about it, the fact is the car I now own, the GR Yaris, is so much quicker, more fun and useable it would probably not be a good idea to go back. Not to mention the fact there is no way I would pay 12 plus grand for a car I sold for 8 grand a year ago.

I do regret selling it still but don't regret buying the GR Yaris so something had to give.

Whoever buys the Type S will be getting a good car but I don't agree it's worth 12 grand. I mean, you can get things that go much faster for half that. Having said that, we all know as current and previous Prelude owners that these cars, despite not being the quickest or most fashionable really get under your skin so there might be some Prelude fan out there willing to spend 12 grand on one.

At the end of the day its only worth what someone will pay for it. I don't suspect anything has happened in the last year to drastically increase its value by 50%. Not a fan of the advert but there you go. I'm sure whoever does buy it will enjoy it.

It's now eligible to be imported into the USA since 26 years old. Prices have shot up.

Do people in the US really want to drive right hand drive cars that badly for 20 extra horses? I mean they have the Type SH there which is the Type S but with 20 less horsepower. I don't know much about the scene in the USA admittedly.

I can see it more with the cars like the EK9 Type R perhaps which is an iconic car.

As usual the cars that will be worth the most are low owner original cars which are close to OEM. As Scott said the car is worth what someone else is willing to pay for it, a year ago that was 8 grand. It sold fairly quickly and the first person to view it bought it but I didn't have people banging my door down.

Yes they do and they can (if the car is old/jdm and meets requirements)..
