I'd have scrapped it if rusty. No prelude is worth chasing rust unless you can find a 100% honest bodyshop. Good luck with that.

Got the passenger side rear arch done today as weather was good. :)
I noticed the fuel lines are different on 5th gen compared to 4th gens - they do seem to hang down a bit and are more exposed. So they got cleaned up and treated to prevent any future problems hopefully.
Will get the passenger side sill and front arch done next week and hopefully with a few more days good weather i can get the underneath undersealed.
I have ordered a febest steering rack boot as it is meant to be exact same as oem but supplier says 2-3 weeks for delivery as it is a special order part :?

ta very much nitin 8)
managed to get the passenger side front arch and sill done today so just got the main bit of the underside to do. i have ordered up a litre tin of Bilt Hamber Dynax undercoat which you apply by brush - so should be able to get a good thick coat of it on and that should provide many years of protection.
Might be 4 or 5 days until this turns up which is no bad thing as it gives me time to rest up and recover from all the hard work done so far.

Ta very much wurly :D

I finished the complete underseal and rust proof of the car today and i have to say i never ever want to do that job again - it just about finished my love affair with preludes.
There was some slight corrosion on the inside of the passenger door at the bottom and some on underside the spare wheel well, fuel tank and the chassis rails at the rear but all this was fairly easy to correct and i have done the right thing by making this job the top priority as another year of salt and grit would have made it more challenging.
I was too tired to take any photos but you can take my word for it that the job has been a thorough one.
Cost of materials was around £100 and it took 35 man hours.
