More much needed maintenance this past week. The car has done almost 119,000 miles and still had its original distributor so it was time for a new one and a set of new plugs.

Instead of Honda OEM I bought a Blue Print distributor cap and rotor arm, spark Plugs are NGK Iridium IX.

Nice to see that the Blue Print stuff is made in Japan 8-)

The old corroded dizzy cap looking better than it was. I cleaned it up a couple of weeks ago.

I had a fuel leak from the drain bung in the tank. The old crush washer was heavily corroded and falling to bits:

I assume it is an air vent. The left hand tube is just hollow and the right hand bit of it seems to be the actual air vent. The vent on the Blue Print part seems to be a little more compact.

:hail:
Very good shout - the air in there would become ionised otherwise. Should have thought of that

My friend is a Honda technician & he says they often use Blueprint parts as
they are decent quality.

Arrgh!!! More damage

Post by Merlin » Mon Jul 20, 2015 1:05 pm

I was away on holiday last week but 10 mins before I left I went to move my car and ended up scraping the nose of it down the side of one of my neighbors BMW

Image

I sent him to the body shop I use and they quoted him £850 to repair the damage. Needless to say I am now putting it through my insurance. His front wing is quite dented .

My car fared much better. Other than the paint being messed up all that was up was that the bumper had been pushed in a little under the front wing.

Image

Yesterday I had the car down at Steve's so I took the bumper off to re-seat it and also to try and polish out some of the finer scratches. It came up ok. I am waiting until later to get it properly fixed as the rest of the car needs a tidy up as well.

Well, that's a bit arse :( Hope you enjoyed the Holiday anyway!
