Ratty's Type S...Supercharged but not supercharged
I took a trip to Performance Autoworks to do some engine bay tidying as it seemed like the perfect opportunity to paint the engine bay as the engine was out.....or so i thought.
,
So when i arrived at 9am it was a very sunny day and no wind. Things started top heat up quick especially since the sun is facing the front of PAW and looking into the engine bay, there is still alot of thing in the way. It will take far to long to remove most things, clean and grind rust/paint. So i hit painting on the head, decided on just doing a dam good old fashioned degrease and clean. Also i though id fully remove the water injection system, install a new battery and remove the redundant boost gauge. Im glad i did this as it soon got up to 28 degrees in direct sunlight with hardly any wind and sweaty betty appeared.
So some before and afters.
Engine bay before. (left side already painted)
After
The old Stinger SPV44 battery that is now 8 years old and discontinued. I find the Odyssey PC1200T is the excact same battery sepite specs and dimension being listed as different. They arnt and its red. Because Type R.
I suspect the battery is damaged because
A- It sat for extended peroids without being used and more so than an AGM battery is happy with
B- Insufficient charging from alternator as i cooked the alt as it rests next to the hytech header and heavily retarded timing from the supercharger setup gives very high exhaust gas temps.
C- 8 years old.
I spent 6 hours cleaning and removing stuff.
Anyhow the whole water injection setup weights in at 9.5kg with 5 litres and water. The JRSC weights in at 38kg. Factor in intake manifold change and i have save 43kg of weight going back to NA and have my strut bar back. Should be more dynamic in the corners.

Ratty's Type S...Supercharged but not supercharged
Yes I did think about this a lot but then I won't be going for big power like Rats did. I will just install and be happy even if I get 40-50bhp, I'm really just doing it for the noises..

No. You both left our whatsapp group. Our group of love and tenderness. This is the result. My engine took its life.

Ratty's Type S...Supercharged but not supercharged
Lets update with what Rich has been up to over the last couple of months.
Holy sexy Wiseco batman. 11.7:1 of pure whorage.
Set using Rich special custom made clearence machine for haytch twenty twos.
Dam you Type S and your issues. The ATTS block and its reloacated oil setup causes this issue on the Skunk2 manifold.
Only hamp shorties or equivalent will work with the sandwich plate for oil cooling and sensor readout etc.
Then Zircotec. I sent they manifold off to them and they initially said 2 weeks turnaround of heat coating the manifold. After 2 weeks it was 2 more weeks. After 2 more weeks it was another 4 weeks wait. Told then to do one and send the manifold back to Rich. 2 weeks later the manifold arrives....back at my house. Bunch of muppets. So Rich heatwrapped the manifold instead.
NEXT ISSUE.
My rebuilt alternator fitted fine on the supercharged setup just clearing the Hytech header primary. But not on the NA setup once the alt relocation plate is removed.
So again Rich had to improvise. Washer time.
Sexy sexy sexy. Type S strut car and intake for the FAP.
Whilst wrapping the header Rich noticed the Sports cat was....well no longer a cat. It was empty.
Wheres my cat insides gone. Could this explain part of the reason why my Supercharger setup failed.....could it.......
Now Rich said there is every chance the cats internals are either burned and gone or they are inside the rear silencer of my Invidia.
After fitting a new radiator, running the engine is and road mapping it just didnt feel right. Simon tuned it on the dyno and made a whopping 230 hurspurs. It just felt lacking and restricted.
Rich gets the camera glory hole, spy peep, pervert camera out and takes a look inside the Invidia backbox.
Looks like there is my cat and where the emissions now happen.
So today 8/10/19 Rich opens the invidia up to what i can only describe as
EXHAUST BLUE WAFFLE.
Many melty.
