Personally I would want to have the oil jets there, to maintain as much cooling to the pistons as possible, especially in a performance build?
Thanks wurly..
I tried installing the jets but they seemed to hit the cranck .
Will have another go at it when I install the new oilpan and have more time.
Know what you mean.. want them back too.

Yes! Yes! And yes!

10/10 for persistence mate, this thing has really kicked you when down and you've come back fighting every time!

Looks even more menacing with the wide arches and Matt black stickered livery. Love the shaved boot vinyls.

It's a beast!

Good luck with the fine tuning and further things on your list, get in there and start blowing away the competition!

Yessss finally had some fun with my car on the track!
Second round of the Dutch Time Attack at the track zandfoort.

I really had to get used to the car again. started off slow and increased speed gradually.

I had 3 20min sessions, the first was mainly feeling the car and after I blew my oil dipstick out and sprayed oil everywhere I had clean the engine bay to avoid being disqualified.
Second session whent very well and I broke my personal record by at least a second doing a 2:06 and alot of steady 2:08s

The qualifying session what even better and after doing a high 2:05 I decided it was enough.
I had a fantastic day and I am very pleased with the car!

I do have a massive BLOWBY issue. Way too much pressure in the engine (valvecover and oilpan)
I did a compression test that was good 195-198-195-190 .
This week I will do a cylinder leak down test.. hope its going to be ok :?

This is a better Dynograph:
I did NOT use my high boost setting.. with the blowby issue I didn't want to risk it.

Ready for some pictures and vids???

Here are a few video's .

This is one of my laps last time attack!
The civic I'm chasing is driven by a proffecional driver ( he is testing the civic for the dutch Honda Civic Cup)
At the end you can see the massive difference in power and straight line speed when I finnaly over take him:

This one is made by an enthousiast last year. time attack and track days!

OOOOPS I did it again...
I did a test day at my local track... and whent off in the gravel again..
It was a chaotic track day and I lost a car in my mirrors. thought he was next to me so did,t turn in. Brakes locked up and there I went .. not too fast but the track had NO margin for errors.
Magaged to drive out but the damage was done..

Managed to salvage most bits :)

The one-off bumper is being repaired by a frien of mine so its not lost but decided to fabricate my own with these two Time Attack legends in mind:

Image

So... took a OEM bumper I had laying around.. took some cardboard.. measured it up and ordered some aluminium in the right size!

Image

Than fitted the aluminium and made some air holes.
Figuring out how to ma the intercooler duct was a challange, wanted to use as much of the origional aluminium as possible as that gives a nice edge and doesn't require rivuts.

Image

did adjust the hight a little ( look at the different distance between the quick release and the alu edge)
Image

duct done, it sits against the intercooler with a L shaped alu profile and rubber strip.

Image
Its quick release, only need to loostnen the two fastners on the side 8-)
Had It wrapped by a friend and fitted some mesh behind the vents.

Test day! Unfortunately I didnt have time to fabricate a splitter. Want to do it right and have it easally removable.

Thi time to Assen, a great track much more forgiving runoffs.
It was a hot day but got a lot of good laps in!

on the trailer with bumper this time!
Image

at the track
Image
took a tent with me as it just gets too hot! had two good friends with me who helped me alot!
This was half way during the day, taking a break and letting the car cool down a bit.

Image
And of the day! bumper was still good! unfortunately the camera didn't work.. next time..
Image

Few problems..
Oil got really hot, 110-120 C. that made my VTEC not engage out of some corners (didn't do this when cold)
Going to fabricate a duct and larger airscoop. Also modify the baffle plate in my oilpan.
bonnet got too hot and started sagging in.. so will fit more vents and strengthen it.
Have tons of other things to do before my next race/test day.

Make a removable front splitter.
Fit the custom all LCA's with kingpin brearings instead of bushings.
lower the streering rods
fit a fire extinguisher system
buils a new oilpan with a different oil return and better baffle

till next time!

For a moment there I thought you'd broken your bumper again again, again... Again? lol, but then realised this was from a little while ago right? ;)

New bumper looks good 8-) certainly works with the rest of the car :)

How are you getting on with this new front wings?

Haha noooo Its been a few weeks .. didnt update this so thought it was time.
Been busy so didnt have time with the splitter or canards yet.
Might only do a splitter to start off with.
Also I will make a better rear diffuser.
Shame I can't have a flatfloor in my Time Attack class..
Its all about aerodynamic balance!
