Lude Generation

So... my ludes been off the road for like 8yrs... in that time I've pretty much only drove autos
I NEEED TO SCRATCH THAT ITCH!
So last week I picked up this.


It's a UKDM BB1 with factory bubble kit.
its kinda rough but I got it for a good price... but unfortunately as you can see from the pic it sprang a leak
it only leaks when the engines running, but when it is it pours out.... It's coming from behind the lower cam cover. I've not taken it off yet to find out exactly where its leaking from but I'm going to take a guess at Balance shaft seal.
pretty gutted as I bought it to blast about in while other ones getting sorted, but I've not really had chance to drive it.

The rear balance shaft seal kind of isn't important - the geared drive is housed in a housing which is lubricated so I never replaced mine. There is a formed o-ring however which did need replacing to stop the geared drive housing from leaking to the outside.

Either way a complete jobby of a job to do on the driveway in these temps!

I'm the same, in the last 6 years all autos or no gearbox at all.

That's a shame about the oil, can't even give it a quick drive
