Edson's Project R

Post by Edson » Sun Nov 25, 2012 1:55 pm

Hi all,

Like to introduce myself to the forum.
I'm Edwin, live in Holland and own a 1993 EDM Prelude 2.2 VTEC.
Bought it in 2009 and driving it since.
Had a lot of different plans with it and bought a lot of parts.

Instead of putting bolt ons on my lude, I decided to give the lude the full treatment.

Also bought a JDM BB4 project forum another luder, for the already coated suspension, with new ES rubbers and a lot of goodies.

The plans:
-RHD conversion
-Fully respray in NH-0
-Fully treated suspension
-Bit of weight deduction (tar mats, abs, roof, pas, 4ws)
-Street and track
-Building my H22A2 to an whp of about 250.

The parts:
-Tein flex
-Mugen goodies, Hiro skirts, Azect rear spats
-A lot of JDM goodies
-Strutbars, thicker swaybars, fender braces, traction bar
-Bride seats, QSP 4 point harnesses
-Zex NOS kit

and many more !

Current status is that the lude is already striped and waiting for treatment.
Parts are stashed for the moment the will be fitted.

Fully intact

Hi and welcome ;)

Why do you want to do RHD converion mate??

That really hard job, and I know what I'm saying, as a lot people try to o or did JDM conversion to LHD and they all say afterword - they will never do this again as it not making sens and cost a lot of work and houre spent in garage.

If you really want to have RHd just pop in to UK, buy whole 4th gen JDM and back to Holland on the wheels
ludes are ment to be driven, not wanking around on a stand like a Civic.

Thanks for the warm welcome mates !
Yes, a lot of people think my idea is awkward, but it is a project or it ain't, right ?

Probably I'd think the same when I have done it. And Yes it's easier to buy a RHD lude and ship it.
But it is not half of the fun. Besides when I use my JDM lude which I already have, to drive RHD, I have to get rid of my own, first car, lude. That is a bridge too far for me...
Can't sell the lude, because it brings up barely anything for a stock VTEC lude and another problem; I do have two ludes, but I don't have two engines :?, and the lude is too good for the scrapyard.
Thats why I combine my love for RHD ludes, JDM goodies, exclusivity and my first car.

I think because in the UK are a lot of RHD ludes, an RHD lude is nothing special. In Holland, where LHD is common, a RHD is something rare.
Therefore I like to build it to RHD, also because my Climate Control and In dash tv would fit much more easier

nice there is another Freak like me that loves his first Prelude ^^

i bought 14 years ago a 93 Prelude and also have a 96 BB4 RHD with only 30k miles in My Garage.
Im doing exactly the same Project like you but without the RHD conversion, things like ABS PAS Air-Con Sunroof tar mats etc are Already out of my LHD Prelude. Last week o bought for some Euros a BB3 without ABS and pulled the Brakes Lines and the Interieur Wiring Loom to Install it in my Lovely Lude.

Have Fun with you Build

P.S Im from Germany so sorry for my English ^^
