MOT time again yesterday.
Gave the old girl a service and a decent wash and wax on Sunday as she was minging.

Up early yesterday for the 2 hour stint to PAW.

Had to put a new battery in a couple of months back (old battery genuinely goosed), so was a bit concerned when I went out the other week and it was beyond flat. Nothing. Nowt. Nada.
Long story short, the central locking had started to play up, with the passenger door working intermittently and it seemed like too much of a coincidence so I started there.

Wires to door lock solenoid showing a constant voltage, indicating a probable short and most likely draining the battery in a few days:
Image

Likely this was either the central locking ECU (green box in drivers door) or the wiring across the car, maybe at the hinged areas of the doors, or both.
Offending item?:

Tried re-flowing the guts of the box but no real joy so sourced another from firstlude cheers again buddy. 8-)

With the new box in, the passenger door would only receive the voltage when I activated the CL, then go back to 0, as it should.

Can confirm it's all sorted. Checked all the wiring for breaks and it all seems fine. Happy bennyboy. :)

MOT time - Took the lude to PAW (natch') this week and figured it was time the gearbox got some attention.
It was fine, but some high rev shifts were getting difficult and there was a bit of a whirring noise in the last couple of years which Rich had figured was most likely one of the driveshaft bearings. To be fair, the box has done something like 220k miles and never had any work, the only time it was apart was to fit the ATR diff, nine years ago, so that's testament to Honda engineering really.
Anyway, long story short it got a rebuild with an M Factory Synchrotech carbon rebuild kit and Rich de-burred the dog teeth and replaced all the bearings and seals. The gear shift is such a big part of driving a high revving Honda that it really has transformed the drive, it feels like a new car to some extent.
Also had a new cam cover seal fitted to stop a little weep on the dizzy side.
Huge thanks to @PerformanceAutoworks once again, a cracking job as ever.
Went through the MOT fine, a few minor notes which I'm aware of and hopefully will sort next year......when I'll have owned it for TWENTY YEARS. How the hell did that happen...
