Cheers Merlin

Well after a lot of head scratching, swearing, tea and fags Im happy to say that ITS ALIVE!!! Im so fcking happy right now I cant tell ya! :D Lots of little fiddly bits still to do but its now a runner and thats the main thing.

Been a bit of bad news along the way too though, I removed the Hiro skirts today and had a nasty suprise  :o  Arches are mint so I was gobsmacked to find this

Absolutely gutted BUT its in the best possible place, what is very odd is that its ok on the other side. Its not a problem, I shall tackle it in the coming few weeks when time allows. Still on track for March ish.

Great news man! Gutted about the tin worm though. Still - it's not as bad as mine

 Good news Bri!

Shame about the rust but as you say, at least it on the 'straight' sill and not the arch.
I'm sure you'll sort it ;)

More updates, Its back on its wheels running and driving ok. I need to link up the knock sensor properly and do a fault check once I have done that as the check light is on but its running smooth, I havent driven it far enough to find out if VTEC is working yet as its not street legal.

I have changed the front springs and need to do the rears, put eibach springs on and thought it maybe lower but I forgot to adjust the front shocks so its still sat too high, never mind eays job, I will just compress the springs and move the bottom pan on the shock, it will be slammmed! (thanks to lude stu for pointing this out as I didnt realise thats how Koni's were adjusted).
Image

Next I have got a Spoon copy poly front lip, still to put on (again thanks to lude stu) so thats gona be sweet!

I have spent the last couple of days sorting a few eleectrical issues, all was great appart from the dash. Fuel and temp gauges were not working and no milage lit up and no needles. Then to top things off it stopped running unless you have the lights on. Switch it off and put the lights on and you get the ignition on. I took the dash appart and found this little rats nest where the immobiliser was linked into the loom

Gone and so has that bloody immobiliser :D
Image

Pain in the arse and it turned out that the ignition switch was faulty too so I just changed the whole lot. Problem I now have is the remote central locking is not working, but I think I can get that sorted again, I have a few ideas. I hate electrics because I dont undersand anything other than house electrics or sound systems.

WTF is this wire, this has made a difference and disconnecting it made my clock work, Its a right puzzle!
Image

I cant understand the diagrams on the prelude manual :(

So next on the to do list is

finish the shock and spring arrangement
Knock sensor connection
Repair rot patch
dent removal ( I learned how )
sort out dimmer issue (climate controll dims ok so tap into that somhow and feed to dash)
repair euro side skirts and spray
tidy it up and MOT!!!!

Well on track for spring :D

Cheers Gary, its been a head wreck so far but I got the worst issues sorted. disconnecting that wire made the needles light up, but the top half of the dash didnt and still does not go dim with the lights on, but at least its all working now so good progress. Its only gona get better from here ;)

I feel like Im bonding with it now as I have got stuck into it. Where as before it was just a big problem on my driveway. I love making progress. Still lots n lots to do but its the easier stuff now, the hardest work is done.

Thanks for your pateince Gary and all the phone calls 8-)
