It looks to have had a new slam panel fitted. Probably the reason for the UK bumpers.
Check the VIN on the panel with your logbook. :ugeek:

Good bargain I think........ :?

[edit] W1ggz beat me to it. :geek:

Haha, yeah I'm feeling pretty happy about it. This is now exactly the same spec I had 12 years ago, when I was 19. And I know how much fun I had in that one!

It's not on the road for another week yet though - needs a new windscreen & tax. MOT till end of September, so not bad.

Can't wait to take it out for a spin! Drove it back to Southampton from Walsall, bout 2 1/2 hours, and it does feel pokey. Though I get the feeling that the engine has a lot more to give - just needs fixing up a bit. So I'll be looking forward to that. Need to give it a good service and new ht leads, then whack a manifold, straight through exhaust, and a Superchip on there & she'll be kicking out 225bhp hopefully. Nice.

Oh, and the petrol warning light came on quite a bit as well on the way home! But I think I'll just have to learn to live with that. ;)

I wondered that, but either way that's a bargain and it sounds like its going to be a bit of fun for you too. :)

Yeah, I reckon I'm going to have some fun in it!!

So, am I going to need to change the bootlid on it then?

would explain a lot if it had been in a multi car pileup ;) and they fixed using a ukdm donor ;)

front damage would have been bonnet, bumper, lights and slam panel and rear end boot, bumper ;)

the gap between the rear bumper and quater is not set right so worth having a look at the crashbar to see if that is still slightly bent.

have you checked log book to make sure it was not cat c?

No mate, didn't check that on the logbook. Be interesting to see if it is, cos that sounds like a viable theory - multi-car pile up. I'll check the crash bar when i change the bumper. So I'll need to source a red jap bootlid & headlights too. That will have to wait till end of next month though. Already going to be spending hundreds this month on it!
