For future reference Starchem SynStryp Paint Stripper. Holy drokk is it lethal. Mask and gloves or else it will strip skin. Tricky Clubbing Eddy.

I was going to suggest Wickes own paint stripper for future needs. It's worked wonders for me without being too aggressive for aluminium.
