Ok ill start at the beginning.

whilst looking for a 4g civic on auto trader I came across my first prelude, I hadn't seen one before and it looked awesome. so naturally I went to look at the car and after a short test drive I purchased the car for £600. it was a white 1989 special edition and looked to be in really good condition apart from a noisy cv joint.

after fitting a sun strip and giving the car a good clean I attended my first meet in the prelude with ludebehaviour.

not long after this the preludes body showed signs of hidden rust. turns out the previous owner had bodged most of the car to make it look pretty for selling. so I sourced an unhealthy 1991 prelude from York in august 2010, this car had more mechanical problems than I first realised and turns out that the car had been in an accident aswell. (clearly I shouldn't buy cars unless they are new)

anyway this is what the two looked like on the driveway:

ok next was the new battery, alternator and drain out the radiator. this was then an opportunity came to change the front end of the 91 and fit the more retro bumper and brackets from the 89.

after all that work I ended up changing the bonnet, wings, bumper (all associated brackets) and one of the headlight covers.

next was the interior.........this is what I was given:

transplanted the wing mirrors and door locks aswell before refitting the door cards.

more to come later......you all need to see what else the previous owner done.

Tidy combination of a 3rd gen coming together. I do like those white wheels on the other one though. 8)

my next task was to replace the brakes, discs and calipers as the previous owner bought red paint and got a little excited... to the point he moved upwards and onto the window wiper arms......

Image

all of ths had to be removed and cleaned at the very least, this paint was everywhere:

and the finished articles....red free:

and with the wheels back on (the white wheels were beyond repair):
