Hello hello!!
Hope your all well,
I don't own a lude "yet" I'm going to view one on Sunday.
It's a 2000 2.2vti manual with 120k miles on it.
Can you tell me what I need to look for? As I'm going alone!
There's a years MOT, he says the is no smoke on vtec and all the gears are good, apparently it just needs an ignition switch a I'm nOt too sure that what is it what it does?
I've been out of the car "scene" for a few years now but I have own a couple of cool cars in the past
Thanks for your help in advance.

Check if the 4WS is fully working, Rust on rear arches, rust near sills, general engine checks etc.
Good luck

Welcome in
If it needs an ignition switch I'd make sure to HPI it (As I would anyway) to make sure it hasn't been nicked. Sorry if that's teaching you to suck eggs.
Some of the other guys will give you more specific good stuff.
Good luck with it.

Welcome!
Common issues:
Make sure the 4ws light illuminates on the dash, then goes out. If there is no light, then it means he's removed the bulb (or its blown).
5th gear crunch, make sure it goes in smooth (insert sex joke here).
Rust on the rear arches.

Super thanks for the feedback guys.
He says there is no rust on the car - but I will see for myself on Sunday.
Do they have the same problem as uk tegs with the plastic arch linings???
Ignition switch - not the barrel!
Yes I will do an Hpi check at the weekend.
I never thought about the 4ws - never owned a car with it!
Is there any members on here from the Belfast area??

Shouldn't be too hard to source a switch then. The 4ws on both 4th and 5th gens can be problematic. Its real good for parking, but Imo that's about it!!

Welcome to the forum!
I'm from Lisburn myself, spent alot of time in Belfast, but I've relocated to Liverpool for the past 4 years.... I just picked up a Gen 4 lude a month ago, 2.3i, absolutely love it and mine has a few minor niggles.
Hope the one you look at is tidy, im sure you'll enjoy owning a lude.
