Hello Everyone.

Just bought a '94 JDM SI-Vtec (H22 BB4) as a bit of a project, only cost £350 but it's been sat for a year and a half. Got 94k on clock and interior's in really good nick. Exterior wise it could do with a tidy-up and the back bumper is cracked on one corner but not too bad.
After putting some air in the tyres and some juice in the battery it started first time and I took it for a blast round the block before I start taking it apart. Pleased to say it pulls like a train (love that vtec!) and handles beautifully, brakes are going to need looking at though.

Can anyone tell me where I can look to see if it has the optional LSD fitted??

Any other advice on common problems would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Welcome to the forum, hope you enjoy the car :D

Have a look on the drivers side B pillar for a sticker. If it says "Si vtec LSD" then the car was built with n LSD box.

To be sure, open the bonnet and if you look at the front of the gearbox (just to the left of the front engine mount) there's a vertical barcode sticker. If that has the code M2B4 then it's an LSD box (or U2Q7 if someone's retro fitted the box from an ATR). If not, then it isn't.

What do you mean? They light up at different times to one another? That's not normal. Could there's a mix of LED and filament bulbs fitted around the car?

Welcome along mate :)

If the LSD was factory fitted then there should be a sticker in the passenger door jam by the paint code sticker. You can also check the gearbox code, which is on the gearbox to the left of the engine code located by the front engine mount as you look into the engine bay. 4th gen LSD box code is M2B4 ;)

*edit - Iain!!

Yes, they flash at different times to each other, although they did start at the same time!! I'll check the bulbs.

Thanks.

Yeah, it'll be a bulb thing then. LESs and filament bulbs react at different speeds. Some filament bulbs as they get old can take longer to react, as well.
