Hi All,

Recently bought a 4G 2.2 vtec to take my other car off the road over the winter months and have not stopped driving it, having owned a BB4 about 11 years ago for a while i'd forgotten just how much fun these cars are

Only down side really is, its a bit tatty where the last elderly owner drove into things so it has a few knocks and marks, but mechanically its been well loked after new clutch/ cam belt/ battery etc, etc and its only done 50,000 in 18 years the last owner having owned it since 2001, came with a load of history and not much rust... which is a bonus

I have to say it does have a couple of issues with the ABS light being on all the time and an intermittant 4WS light, which comes on at the slightest provocation, so might well do the 2WS conversion, but i'm getting the alignment done soon so have to see what that brings up !!!

I've also in the last few weeks changed the springs and dampers for a KYB excell-G/Tein S.tech setup, which i also had on my BB4 and remember it being pretty decend handling without shattering bones over bad road surfaces, which i can do without at my age :?

I think it'll need some bushes doing at some point as it tramlines a bit on poor surfaces, but as long as it passes the MOT in a few weeks i'll be happy, and work from there.

I'll stick some piccies up when i get a chance :D

You will probably find the 4ws is playing up because of the ABS fault, get some pics up tho mate sounds like its a decent car

Welcome, as you say - once you drive one you remember just how good a car they are!

Look forward to the pics 8-)

Pull the fault codes from the ABS and 4WS system to see what the faults are, as w1ggz says you may well find it's a rear ABS sensor (which would take out both systems)...

If you do end up wanting to go 2WS conversion though, I will have a full rear 2WS subframe available shortly from the car I'm breaking.

Whereabouts are you located?

Thank you for the welcome chaps, Wurley i'm in Sussex about 30 mins from Gatwick, so could have a drive over to Essex if/when the rear sub/ 2ws arms become available, what sort of money would you want for these please.

I pulled the codes from the ABS last night and i'm getting a single flash from the ABS light, which looks like it might be the pump thats faulty pump overrun what ever that means ?? :( but i've possibly found a remedy on the web but i need some time to pull it apart and check it, not managed to get any codes off the 4WS as yet as i say its a little intermittant days go by its fine then the next day it'll come on for seaminly no reason
