Post by rich-kez » Mon Apr 09, 2012 11:44 pm

Hello all! my names Rich im 21 and i live in north wales! im a vehicle paint sprayer by trade!
Here is my Honda Prelude 4th gen JDM import 2.2 VTEC.
My dad originaly bought this car a few years ago and we both done bits and bob on it but now we have just bought another skyline i have taken the project on for my self!
The car has loads of goodies with it done a fair bit too it since we have owned it, shes a 1993 with only 84k on the clock, there is a fair few things i need to sort however, the poor car has been sat for 3 months broken down, we have been messed about by a mechanic so much that no work ever got done, we finally changed to some one else now and apon stripping bits off we found the engine has a crank seal thats leaking so i need to get that done and may aswell do the cam belt at the same time! also for some reason when i lock my car the wing mirror motors click and dont fold in? any ideas?
and of course being a sprayer by trade im treating the car to a full respray and replacing the rear arches as they are showing early signs of rust and not to mention some chav carved leeds united across my bonnet and down my drivers door :( also the previous owner fitted her with smoke rear lights which i will be replacing with OEM ones as soon as i can lol! anyway i cant wait to get started heres a quick spec list from what i can remember and a few pics!!

Engine 2.2 VTEC h22a
spoon sports front lip
Value racing side skirts, rear spats and spoiler
Asuka racing 17" wheels wrapped in falken tyres
Tein super street coilovers
Fujitsubo 4-2-1 manifold
Japspeed full exhaust and decat (she was fitted with a fuji but the exhaust corroded :()

Hks mushroom filter and cold air feed
uprated valve springs and stem seals
Apexi VTEC controller
various interior gauges
some ice door speakers etc the previous owner said it was amazing? lol

Stan's old car

Welcome to LG

Wing mirrors click when you lock the car as they are mostly likely damaged internally, and Stan modded them so that they folded in when the car was locked/unlocked. If you take the drivers door card off there should be some extra wiring connected to some one way diodes, remove that.

Hi and welcome to LG.
I recognise this car :)

With the Folding mirrors, As ammo said they have most likely lost a few teeth on the cogs so they slip and just make a clicking sound instead of winding in and out.
You're either going to have to strip them down and replace the cogs or, as your a sprayer, just source some more folding mirrors, spray them up and swap them over.

Welcome to LG man, she is a cracking looking car, thought I recognised her.

I have a spare set of folding mirrors (in blue) for sale if you need em. I think you can rob the internals if you want to use the original casings :)
