Hi, I am a new member and looking to buy my first 'Lude' as I understand they are calked….'cool or what!!'…. Anyways budget of £1000-1500 max pref less just want a 5th gen ideally Motegi kit and ideally manual but auto is fine…..Or any other suggestions.
Mid life crisis looms and though have owned a civic type r before I am loving the retro feel of these.
Have looked at a couple and been messed around so looking for an honest car and honest owner to deal with.
I am in Devon so realistivcally I am not going to go to Scoland to buy one so guess bottom half of country.
Any help or advice on whats available or what to buy/look out for would be appreciated.
Save the high tech speak and I don't talk the lingo….wouldnt understand….I am just an old man who thinks they look cool and as a Jap man through and through I know they are reliable.
Hot me with any thoughts,
Thanks in advance
Simon

Be wary if buying a 5g auto from a randomer.
Some on here (e.g. merc) run them reliably as daily drivers because they look after them, however they have a bad rep for gearbox failure in general - so you will need to be careful to check how well a second hand one has been looked after by previous owners.

I even drone 3.5 hrs to Southampton to look at the first one you tagged but paperwork was incomplete and not registered to chap who had its address so walked away. Was quite cheap too.

This is not necessarily a problem, especially on an old, low value car. I think I've bought  at least 6 cars with incomplete or missing paperwork in my time, with no issues.
However, it's down to what you feel comfortable with of course.
