In search of 4g 1995 Lude 2.2 vtec

Hi all!

I am on a mission to try and find my husband's black manual 1995 4g Lude (2.2 VTEC) which was imported from Japan in 2000. Her most defining feature upon selling her was the super classy black electrical tape in the arches to stop the rust monster from spreading/to pass MOTs, but she was sound mechanically and never missed a beat.

He has been looking to change cars recently and has been really reminiscent about the old gal. He's enjoyed the cars he has had since her, but she's definitely the one that got away.

I've tried the usual means of searching (DVLA, Autotrader, Pistonheads, Gumtree, Ebay etc.), but no dice.

It's been untaxed since January 2013 and hasn't had an MOT since June 2012. We have contacted the person he sold it to to try and get information to track her down, but have little information about who he then later sold it on to.

So if this sounds like a lude that your friend/friend of a friend/guy/gal down at the local pub has, please get in touch or pm me for more details. :)

Or any other suggestions of ways to track her down would also be much appreciated!

Many thanks in advance,
lilac

Sad to say that the likelihood after 3 years since the last tax is that it is in Lude Heaven with all the others. There may be a remote chance it is in someone's garage being cherished, but unlikely.

You'll have more chance of you post up the Reg No and them someone might recognise it.

Some of them make a reappearance- mine was off the road for a couple of years before eventually getting dragged out of slumber. That said it doesn't sound promising sadly :(

Hi Lilac,
Absolutely top marks for trying to do this 8-)
As others have said, the registration number would help greatly. Also whereabouts was it sold to in the country? (local members might have seen it about)
Do you have any pics? We could tell if the car was modified at all, or standard.

Thanks everyone from the replies. :) It was sold somewhere in Cheshire as far as we're aware and the reg number is M521 THH.

Well there aren't many M reg ludes about, so The mot history looks promising - nothing to suggest it would be a likely failure at the next one in 2013, but you can't be sure.
The annoying thing about the online tax/mot check is that you can't see if the car is scrapped or not.

You might have to fork out for a basic check to see if that has happened?

From a quick scout around, I think this might be the cheapest option that would tell you that?

£2,95 basic check says it would tell you if recorded as scrapped or written off.
