Hello All! New Lude Owner!

Post by Holmeboy » Thu May 12, 2016 8:48 pm

Hello everyone! I've recently just purchased my first Lude! I've been looking to buy one for the past year and finally last month i came across a 1993 2.0i Prelude...with 66k miles.

The bodywork generally is good apart from the rear arches (who would have thought?) and theres a scratch on the rear bumper but im going to get these sorted next pay day. Also you may have noticed the doors are slightly off colour which was due to some idiot scratching them to death around 15 years ago, and the recoat has faded a bit. So that will get tackled soon also.

This car was absolutely filthy when i bought it, the old guy i bought it off has done everything to the car maintenance wise (clutch and cam belt have been changed twice now) and i got 17 years worth of mot/service/garage documents from the previous owner (Plus a clifford central locking alarm system has been installed). The previous owner just never bothered keeping it clean weirdly!

The reason i bought a 2.0i and not the VTEC is because I am only 22, and the insurance on the 2.2 was way too much, so for now im more than happy with 2.0 litres. (Its a step up from the 1.2 Corsa i had before this to say the least)
I'm not sure what i'm going to do to the car, modification wise. I am quite happy with how stock it is (aside from the alloys of course) as i can do whatever i want to it. But half of me wants to overhaul it and turn it into a beast, im still undecided. Looking at all the ludes on here has given me plenty of ideas at least :D

Well anyway thats my Lude, I'm so over the moon with it, its untrue. Can't wait to see what my car will look like in 5 years time!
Also if anyone could give me some tips on removing the door cards so i can replace the speakers (they have disintrigated) that would be awesome thank you!! :)

Welcome in buddy, the 2.0's aren't as slow as people make them out to be.

Hi and welcome

Don't bother with engine mods. the 2.0i ain't that slow. big step up from the corsa
Just concentrate on getting it looking good. (lows, wheels, lipkit etc.)
Then if you upgrade to a VTEC in the future you can swap everything over.

Nice Prelude, having once owned a 2.0 4G I can honestly say I loved that car, prior to that I had been driving around in a Corsa GSi, and the Honda felt like a huge leap.
Gratz and gotta say the interior looks mint.

Nice buy.
Pity you have to sell the house to pay for it!
