Lude Generation

Hi guys I've just registered on here and am looking for some advice.

My Aunty has a Gen3 F reg 2.0 Auto which is not running right. We are having problems with the Thermal Wax Switching, apparently part number 17350PK1751. I can not seem to find a new one of these as they look to be discontinued so I've heard you can install a manual choke to convert it? Is this right and does someone on here make or sell a kit.

Not many carb 3rd gens on here (most are injection) but there are some members that have previously owned carb ones, so they may be along with some info. i do also recall someone on here earlier this year going though some similar sounding problems with theirs... can't remember the username... Will see if I can find the thread...

This was a common mod to perform on a mk1 Toyota MR2 (the Wax thermostat also failed over time), i heard of a kit being sold on those forums. Its likely to contain almost all the bits you would need, with the exception of the business end at the TB which might need some further work...
