Hi there everyone. I just wanted to introduce myself as I have just got a fourth gen. Prelude 2l. It has been stood in a field and hasn't moved for 5 years the inside was full of mice droppings and even a dead mouse. It is almost a lost cause but I'm looking forward to the challenge. Cheers from steviesnutz in blantyre Scotland. 😆

Front callipers are shot. Been down the breakers yard and found that a crv has the same brake saddle spacing and the same spacing for the slider pins but the callipers are just a bit wider .... 300 mm discs rather than my 260 ish could be a good fit for an upgrade but would need bigger wheels. :)

Im in the same boat - brakes on the BB3 are goosed. Rear calipers are getting replaced today and i have spare fronts but they are the 282mm ones from the vtec and larger than the 260mm ones on the car - if i change the fronts then wheels wont go over the 282mm calipers :x

ive done the breaks today with help from merlin. rear calipers needed replaced and i got them for £60 ea with new shims and slider pin boots - the fronts were ok part from the pads were stuck so just a refurb. That means ive got a spare set of 282mm fronts with carriers, shims and stainless braided lines. They might just fit under your wheels? certainly smaller than 300mm discs&calipers. :)

Hi steve and welcome.
Sounds like you have a challenge on your hands there, but we always love to hear of Ludes being saved - would love to see some pics :D

Front brakes on the 2.0 are 260mm diameter discs.
A popular upgrade is to replace with the 282mm discs from a vtec Prelude (4th gen or 5th gen - calipers/carriers are the same).
You need the bigger discs, the pad carriers and the calipers from the vtec model and they're a straight bolt on.

For the donor car, the only difference between a 4th gen and a 5th gen vtec setup is the discs - 5th gen uses 5 stud hubs/discs, while the 4th gen uses 4 stud.

Ordered a pair of e-bay today. So I'll have to get on to 'Big red' the brake refurbish people. Might not need the piston but will need seals😀
